“Luxury!” We stayed in the cottage for one fantastic week in March 2013. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome and a lot of thought has clearly been put into the cottage. Bernera is a fantastic location, we enjoyed exploring the island with it's beautiful beaches and walks. The cottage itself is well equipped and designed, has a wood burning stove and lovely views over the bay. The weather was great and the northern lights were even on display during our visit. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

“Highly recommended” Wonderful, comfortable cottage, complete with everything needed for a great holiday in a perfect location. The surrounding scenery is fantastic and quite wild, with the most beautiful Bosta Beach, which I heard described as 'paradise', just 10mins drive away. There are good walks close by and the Great Bernera Trail is worth doing, wear good boots because it is quite wet underfoot. Also the famous Callanish Stones are not far away. Although we never met the owner, he kept in touch and ensured we had everything required. Have had many self catering holidays but Harsgeir cottage was one of the best and would highly recommend it.

“Quiet, relaxing, beautiful, friendly and unique” Our stay at Valasay was wonderful. When we arrived anne had a lovely fire lit for us which made the cottage even more cosy. So much so that we had to prise ourselves out each day. The scenery in Lewis and Harris was quite unique and absolutely gorgeous. Each night after dinner we all went for a walk to one of the lovely beaches/coves just to sit quietly. We did not chat to each other as it was so lovely just to take in the spectacular views and listen to the silence which is so lacking in our lives today. Then there was Riley and what a lovely, sweet, friendly dog he is too. We spent a lot of time playing with him and will miss him terribly. “A lovely property in a great location” Excellent communication and advice was provided by anne throughout the booking process and our stay. Anne made some very good suggestions for activities we might try with our young son, which were highly appropriate and enhanced our holiday. We received a very friendly welcome and the homemade cake wating for us on our arrival was a lovely touch which we thoroughly enjoyed. My family found the cottage to be very comfortable and extremely well-equipped. Fixtures, fittings and furnishings are of very high quality. The location of the property is wonderful for a truly relaxing "get away from it all" holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property and sincerely hope that we will be able to return one day. Thank you, Anne for a lovely stay.

“Peace and quiet in a stunning location” We had a cold but wonderful week on this beautiful island. We wanted somewhere remote and this was perfect. During the week we went on the circular walk from the cottage to the breathtaking Bostah beach and back along the road, the walk took us 5 hours and we saw one other couple which gives an idea of how peaceful it is. Recommend Bostah, Luskentyre and Dalmore beaches. The cottage was well equipped and warm (important when the weather isnt so good!) and we spent lovely cosy evenings in front of the woidburner ( take your own fuel for this). The beds were comfy, I cant fault the cottage it was perfect. All in all this was a lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday.
