“Excellent location in a very pleasant village.” Peaceful just what we needed. Swimming pool few minutes walk away in the village. Easy access to surrounding areas ie. thermal baths, market and not too far from Granada if you want to sightsee.. 3 pubs and cafes in the village serving excellent wines and food. Restuarant nearby if you don't want to cook although the Amapola is well equipped with all that you would need.
“Fantastic place, stunning view, heavenly silence, no one disturbs you” The house is on top of a hill with stunning views in every direction. We like the house very much: It is comfortable, very spacious and well equipped. It is just amazing to sit on the very large terrace, which is on 2 sides of the house. So you can always sit where it is most comfortable concerning sun and wind. The house is about 200-300 metres above Almunecar. You reach it very easily from the motorway using "caminos" which are mostly bituminised. Only the last bit is "natural underground", but it is no problem at all to drive it with the car.
We made fantatic trips to Granada and the Alhambra, which takes about 1 hour by car. Nerja is a very nice place, too, and there are very intersting caves near Nerja. In Almunecar the Aquarium is very interesting. We felt extremely comfortable in the house from the first minute on. The welcome service of Roy and Carol is very nice and warm. We will come back to Casa de las Gaviotas soon.
“We would stay there again” A lovely townhouse, well equipped, set in lovely grounds, and with a view to the sea. We were there in winter, and there were oranges hanging right outside our front door. The open log fire worked very well (we bought logs from a local garden centre). We had breakfast on the terrace every morning. The manager in charge of the property was very attentive, and the owner is also very nice.
Food shopping in La Herradura market is good (once a week) and Almunecar has a daily market, great bars and restaurants.
You can play tennis, and swim in the shared pool (closed in the winter months). You need a car, not expensive if you hire in advance at Malaga airport.
We drove all over the area, and spent a wonderful day in Granada. There is good out of town shopping in Malaga, and all along the coast.
“charming, rustic, relaxing” Cortijo La Mata is a wonderfully charming and rustic villa. The location close to the Sierra Navada National park is an excellent spot for travellers who wish to do nothing or those who like to be active on holiday. The property has an authenic andalusian feel, is spacious and well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
