“Recommend a stay in the summer season” Having only visited off season when the village is very quiet and a stay consists of walks, markets, good meals out and cosy evenings, it was great to experience the summer madness. If you ignore the miniature trains , the rest is lovely; bigger markets, quality buskers, shops selling miniature knights Templar, the chance to look around the impressive bastide buildings, and, most importantly the chance for a daily swim in the Dordogne which is 10 minutes away by car, 20 minutes on foot. Read the other review about the noisy neighbours, and thankfully they weren't there during my weeks stay so we enjoyed quiet days and evenings eating dinner in the garden. The house was as comfortable in summer as it had been in winter....a welcome stoney-cool retreat from the heat.
“Just what was needed” We loved the overall location of this property. Cagne Sur Mer was close enough to the action of Nice and Antibes that we could easily enjoy it, but as a smaller community, was out of the tourist action generally. The apartment was perfect for a family with small children, with a large bed in the bedroom, and pull outs in the living room. Every night we were able to enjoy wine on the balcony while our little one slept soundly, and there was no need for sneaking around or avoiding area of the apartment. The pool allowed for an easy cool-down from the warm weather, which was good, because the beach, although close, was a little further than we expected.
Amenities were easy to find with a daily market and supermarket close by and a playground for children of all ages. The train station was accessible, although we found that the bus service of the coast was very cheap and good, so we didn't use the trains much. A handy tip is that there is a bus service from the Airport in Nice, which passes RIGHT by the apartment, it was substantially cheaper than a taxi! We recommend that this be used by travelers.
We would definitely stay here again. The price was right for a great holiday!
“Villa in Ceret” A great place for a holiday with fantastic links to everywhere. Easy access to the South of France, Northern Spain and Andorra if you can face the drive.
A lovely villa with something for everyone - a great pool and wonderful access to a fantastic river. We took 3 generations and there was loads of space for all to do their own thing, relax and have fun.
“perfect” My wife, her adult daughter, and I spent a week here. It was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the weather wasn't. But we still had a wonderful visit. After arriving in Paris on an early morning flight from the states, we picked up a rental car and headed to Honfleur. We arrived late morning and found Sue still cleaning. We were able to park our car in the unit's secure parking space with all our belongings, and immediately headed into town, to explore while Sue finished. She explained about the hot water problem, which was easily remedied by checking the circuit braker and re-setting it if it had switched off. We had absolutely no problem having as much hot water as we needed.
Nor was the lack of wi-fi a problem for us, since Judy's daughter had a Smart phone, and could connect with it. Besids, our idea of a vacation is to get away from all that.
The house, layout worked perfectly for us, and the location couldn't have been better - far enogh away from the town center to be quiet, but close enough to walk to every morning to pick up a fresh bagette, sit by the harbor for a coffee and pastry breakfast.
We used the house as a base for day trips to Ruen, Etretat, and Deauville.
The house was equipped nicely for cooking, although we only cooked two dinners. We recommend trying L'homme d'Bois but pass on Ill Parasole. Why eat mediocre/poor Italian food when in France?
“Fantastic holiday home to visit all the sights” We stayed at Hollen for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The property has recently been renovated and has all the makings of a home from home and suited our mixed group.Everything is provided and there is a intermarche within a five minute drive.
The property is in a quite location but a short drive takes you to the sights ,beaches and activities.
“Perfect place to stay in Chamonix!” We were lucky enough to spend New Year at Le Refuge and be one of the first guests in the newly refurbished apartment. The owners have done a fab job. Everything you could want from ski accommodation - comfy beds, hot and powerful shower, stacks of space to store wet gear and a great, sociable dining area to while away the evenings. There were six of us which worked perfectly.
Right in the centre of Chamonix so a quick walk to all shops, bars and restaurants (recommend Evolution for partying and MBC for amazing burgers) and a parking place inside if you have a car to drive to the slopes.
Thoroughly recommend Le Refuge.

“A place to relax” This is a really good place to relax at after busy days in this busy area. Both Villefranche and the apartment is nice to return to. Parking in Villefranche could be a problem but here you can park inside the apartment area (even if there was not a reserved parking place for this apartment).
The apartment was very clean and as described. The patio has a nice seaview but some other buildings partly block it. There is some noise from the road but the bedrooms are at the back side and are very quiet. The distance to Villefrance center is 10-15 minutes walk (uphill back) and to beach and train station it is more like 20 minutes. Bus to Nice is very easy but they stop going around 8 pm.
The only really negative thing I would say is about the pool area. Clean but very boring.
