“The acorns forest stay” Lovely quiet place to stay, right in the heart of the forest. A large annex to the big farm house with its own patio & large grassed area/'field'. The owners were very helpful & friendly, if there are any problems (we had an issue with the oven working which got fixed in 5 mins!) but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy the property & your holiday. There was a welcome pack of fresh bread eggs milk butter etc which was lovely. There is also a lovely pub that serves food, is dog friendly & has a beautiful garden to sit in which was a short amble down the lane. It's based on a working farm so there are horses & free range chickens (& dogs!) I took my dog so he had an automatic social life when we arrived! The only down side (if I'm being picky!) is that the hot tub & garden furniture could do with an upgrade... but, having said that, it didn't in anyway detract from the great accommodation & hospitality... we have every intention of returning. If you're after a forest based, quiet, comfortable, well priced break, this is a great place to stay.

“Fabulous family holiday” Three generations of our family had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was perfect for the 10 of us staying, enough space for us all. The swimming pool was a massive hit and well used every day. The snooker/music room/ bar was also a fabulous space. We had such a warm welcome from Lucy and the house was perfectly clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. Overall a truly wonderful holiday.

“Badgers End Cottage” Had a relaxing break at the cottage. A pretty cottage in a lovely area. Everything you need is supplied and the owners are friendly and welcoming, with great ideas of places that are worth visiting. Bryan the dog had endless fun in the fields just down the lane. We hope to return one day soon.

“Winter in Gloucestershire” What more can we add to other glowing reviews. We stayed in Albion House for a week in January. The house is spacious, warm and well equipped with everything you need. It's situated in a great position in Newent and well placed for exploring the wider area. Andrew is a very helpful and attentive host and a lot of thought has gone into this holiday home.

“Perfect little cottage!” Great position, lovely friendly owners, Very cosy, just what we needed for our Mountainbiking break to the Forest of Dean. Shower is not great but there is a bath as well so no real issue. Very warm with all you need including a welcome food pack!! Very impressive. Thanks guys We will be back!!!

“Lovely little hideaway in the country” A cosy cottage with truly individual character. The decked balcony provided stunning views across the fields and, despite its size, The Granary has a full size spa bath to relax in after many a forest walk. The owners live next door but didn't bother us at all unless we needed them. They even gave us fresh eggs from the resident chickens. Our springer spaniel was also welcome, which for us was a real bonus.

“A peaceful setting and beautiful views” We had a lovely short break. The new hot tub was an added bonus and the views across the fields full of lambs was beautiful. Fresh eggs from the chickens were waiting for us when we arrived which was lovely. Mandy was very helpful and took our children to collect eggs which they loved. The location is great, so close to lots of places. The inside of the stables is warm and welcoming and we felt really at home.

“Lovely cottage in a great location” We booked Cider Press Cottage for a week's family break along with our 5 month old puppy. The cottage was just what we were looking for; three bedrooms with an open plan living room/kitchen and a nice fenced-in garden. The forest itself is just beyond the cottage so plenty of walks right on the doorstep and all the local attractions are within an easy drive, with Lydney just 10 minutes away. Finally, just to mention Sue who was a wonderful host, friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend
