Thank you for your review and feedback which we always treat as important and valuable to us. Our house is not just a business for us as we treat La Maison Rever as our personal second home. You are right that these old properties do need opening up and take a time to both air and warm up. The damp issue is now resolved, and wasn't a major issue but just the walls absorbing moisture which then needing to be warmed up and lived in. I am sorry to hear that you found La Maison Rever cold as we usually receive positive feedback about how cooling the house is when it's been hot and sunny outside. We installed a wood burning stove and always have a ready supply of wood for guests to use, whatever season it is.
The weather had been very wet for prolonged periods before your trip, followed by a hot and sunny few weeks which made the garden grow rapidly. Following your feedback ,we have resolved this matter going forward by increasing the amount of gardening hours completed by our house keepers.
The guest information/instructions has now been updated and clearly clarified for the use of the boiler and central heating system and I think the issue you had was due to a previous guest damaging the thermostat dial on the boiler. We wish you had contacted us at the beginning of your stay so that we could have resolved this, and your other concerns, immediately.
As for the local cats, I am pleased to tell you that most of them have left as we have had a change of neighbours. Our previous guests at La Maison Rever have informed us that their children had befriended the cats, therefore as a result of your feedback we have updated our guest information details to advise all guests that the cats are not to be encouraged to enter our property.
