“30th birthday bash” A great weekend in some beautiful english countryside, in an old english house!
Perfect for a big group celebrating. Make sure you take a stroll out to Wingfield Manor across the fields, straddling the rivers and over the railway. Be sure to stop at The Old Yew Tree Inn for a drink.
The main 3 bedrooms are nicely finished, and the kitchen is well done. The reception rooms are pleasant, and the mis-matching furniture doesn't make you feel too guilty for partying! The working fireplaces are great.
All in all, the house represents good value in a truly beautiful corner of England.
“A magical venue!” A fantastic venue for a large group. Great location, easy to access all surroundng facilities, bars and shops etc. The house is very well equipped in the kitchen areas and the bedrooms are all decorated tastefully with their own individual theme. The courtyard is beautiful, lovely to sit out for a BBQ. A great place for a party with family and friends! Would definitley consider going again.
“Loved Every Minute!” Fletcher's Hall was inviting, cosy, warm and comfortable in providing accommodation for 5 couples, one single adult, 2 babies, 1 toddler and 1 dog. Travel cots were taken for the babies and there was a bed settee or single pull up bed for our 3 year old. Plenty of room for all; at no point did we feel on top of one another. The swimming pool and hot tub was a treat for all, very clean and warm despite the Autumnal weather approaching. Not far from the town of Lytham or the Blackpool Illuminations. We would love to return next year.
“house is very good and nice furnished inside and beautiful garden” very nice surroundings to explore by bike and by car . Carcassone is around 50 min and worth to visit . The coast is not too far around half an hour to 1 hour. Gruissan is ideal for windsurfing and kiting. also Argèles sur Mer is fantastic for windsurfers but 1,5 hour drive from the home.
inside the house everything is at disposal. nice bedrooms especially the bedroom and bathroom on the second floor is like a suite and beautiful.
the swimmingpool is fantastic as well the whole garden. you can eat always outside because there are different spaces to do so. there is also a fridge in the pool house.
some things to know : the nearest supermarkets namely Carrrefour, Lidl and Intermarché are not so near to the house namely around 12 km. they apply normal prices. there is also a small supermarket CAsino in Villedaigne around 2 km from the house but very expensive and very limited choice without fresh fruits. not recommended
there is a grocery store on the other side of the road but only open from 8.30 till 9.30 h and about bread you have to order one day in advance and choice is very limited. so we bought our bread at the friendly bakery in Villledaigne. this baker has also very good small pizza's and guiche lorraine .
we plan to go back .
the owner of the house lives at the property in an appartment which is situated in one part of the house.
during the third week of july we had three days of high winds. weather in this region is not too hot between 28 and 32 degrees which is ideal.
“Magnificent venue - perfect for our family reunion!” Gathered the extended family for a long overdue rendezvous to celebrate Mum's 80th birthday. The house was perfect for our large family group (aged 3 to 80!!). The beautiful house and its facilities were superbly presented and we had everything we could have wished for. The grounds and garden were beautifully maintained and provided plenty of space and amenities for the kids to play - and for the ''oldies'' to walk and relax in peace down by the river. We couldn't have asked for a better venue.
“Away from the madding crowds in the heart of the countryside, perfect.” The Gaddens Manor House apartment was perfect for us, 6 adults an 8 year old and two under 15 months. Needing plenty of room the most appealing feature was the gardens and security mainly for the children. Here they could go outside with no fear of traffic. The peace and quite is unbelievable and if you are a star gazer on a clear night with little light pollution you have a fantastic display. The accommodation is first class and is as described on the web site, with an extra ‘boot room’ for outdoor items, an extra fridge and clothes dryer. The three burner gas bar-b-q was brilliant. Parking for at least three cars and private access to the area via own security gates. The owners, Jayne and Chris were very friendly and welcoming, it was perfect. After the week we could have made it our home which is an excellent recommendation as it is not often holiday accommodation matches up to your own home. The house is 5 minutes from Ringwood and 20 minutes from beaches near Christchurch. Being right in the heart of the new forest there is easy access to horse riding, cycling and visits to New Forest villages and of course just walking. If you choose to stay at Gaddens you will not be disappointed.
“Serene” Have visited the property twice, both during druing the summer months, once as a couple and once with children. We found the house spacious, cool and very relaxing. The location means you are away from the noise of the city but still close enough to neighboring villages and towns with all of the amenities you could need. For example the house is within 30 minutes of Carcassonne where we visited more than once for dinner.
Id reccommend this to anyone looking to explore a beautful region of France from within the confines of an immaculate house.
“Great Stay, Beautiful Countryside and a massive house” Really great house for large groups - it really is a massive house and at no point will you feel like you are on top of each other.
The kitchen is well kitted out and easy to cook large meals for massive groups.
Jane the owner was lovely and looked after us every well during our stay. I'm not sure how she is able to keep such a large house clean and in good condition but she managed it. Would recommend!
“A wonderful large child friendly home with fantastic outside space” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Belle Echappee. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful and have created a home that is ideal for big families or even two families with large , comfortable and flexible space inside and tons to do outside. The children could happily have swum all day in the well heated large salt water pool, had it not been for all the other entertainment in the garden where practically every sport is catered for. The views are also beautiful. The owners live on sight but can be contacted as much or little as guests want and are extremely welcoming and helpful, we look forward to our next visit enormously. Will , Pat and the children
“Magnificent location, great facilities and very very peaceful” If you are looking to be away from it all, this place will suit. the house is very well equipped, totally secluded in it's own beautiful grounds but within a 20 minute drive of Riberac. Travelled with 10 mates and there was plenty of room with all the facilities you need. the outdoor BBQ was great for the evening meals and a few bottles of the fantastic local wines!
“T in the park hen party” Great house for staying near the festival but also for relaxing after! We had a great time and were welcomed on arrival. The rooms were great and the house slept 12 comfortably. The only problem we had was the main shower. It was unbearably hot or freezing.
I would definitely stay here again. The surrounding area and nearby towns and villages were so beautiful!
“Cool, calm and authentic” This place seemed better than many high-end hotels: equivalentbeautiful authentic house with old stone walls, very well organized, 5 large bedrooms plus a smaller kid's room (actually the sweetest according to my 13-yr daughter), living room, dining room and large kitchen (which was plenty large enough for family meals when we were not having them in the garden). All of it furnished with beautiful antique furniture, but modern bedding and commodities (5 bathrooms with toilet), and surrounded by a wonderful garden. The garden was great for the whole family: incredible freshness throughout the day, huge old trees, plenty of lawn space (the photograph of the golf player is real: there is enough room for (amateur) golf practising) to set up a badmington net in the shade of the large trees. A week was barely enough to enjoy the activities provided around the beautiful countryside of 'Les Monts de Blond' in particular: Horseback, bicycle riding (Electric bikes can be rented just a few miles away for easier touring of the Monts de Blond), swimming pool, golf, because the pleasure of the house was making us lazy about going places, and the nice small village had all amenities needed at walking distance.
This place I recommend for having a peaceful and restful week with family or/and friends in century-old surroundings.
