“Wonderful - cabin excellent, and location of park very good!” This cabin is a real home from home, with all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Very cosy with the fire lit on a cool evening, and when the weather is good, eating on the balcony is delightful, with only the sound of birdsong in the surrounding woodland to relax with! We took our little dog, who loved the freedom of the secure balcony, and the wooded walks!
Location of the cabin within the holiday park is very good, being in a quiet location on a wooded hillside away from the "street-like" rows of some of the other cabins, but within a few minutes walk to the pool and spa and pub/restaurant. Also, the park is right on the waters edge of Lake Windermere, again only a 5-10 minutes walk from the cabin, where there is a marina full of boats
All in all, you can't go wrong, and we would certainly stay here again when holidaying in the Lakes!!.
“Beautiful private lodge in perfect location” This is without a doubt the best lodge we have stayed in, so private and secluded, but easy access to facilities close by. We all loved the watching the wildlife and feeling of the great outdoors around the property, kids enjoyed exploring the grounds and playing in the meadow, the grown ups enjoyed the hot tub. Lots of attractions nearby, a good base for Yorkshire dales, trough of Bowland and Lake District days out
We will definitely return for another holiday
The Carter clan : )
“WOW PERFECT AWESOME” It was a perfect relaxing break, the cabin is beautiful and the hot tub is a definate wow, overlooking the lake, watching the stars with a glass of wine in the hot tub whilst listening to music. Everything you need, Stewart and Joanne are lovley people, wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
We will definatley be returning and i will be recommending it to all my friends.
I recieved an email from Stewart before we left home with fantastic directions and his phone number if we needed anything
“Amazing!! Couldn't ask for better!” Excellent service from start to finish. This is our second time back here to this truly magical place. The village is lovely and quiet but has everything you need within walking distance. The supermarket has everything you need and similar prices to uk. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights 4 times this year. All trips were fantastic the tour guides are incredibly helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the skidooing to the ice hotel, the half day husky safari and Sami reindeer farm. Ski slopes are only 5 min taxi ride away and have slopes for all abilities. Jane who organised everything for us had yet again excelled herself and our holiday was yet again beyond our expectations. Super stuff!!!
“50th Birthday” We've Just Got Home From A Long Weekend To Celebrate My 50th Birthday. Log Cabin Was All Trimmed Up With Birthday Banners When We Arrived :) Perfect Special Touch. It's Been A Great Weekend. House And Views Are Beautiful. Thanks x
“Lodge credit to the owners” July 2013 .This property was spotlessly clean had everything you needed .The hot tub was a god send because the week we was there was the hottest week of the year. The lodge is a credit to the owners and would recommend this property for anybody to stay here.
“Ideal for a short break” We stayed for 2 nights, a very comfortable cabin, my son and his friend loved it, plenty of walks, lots of wildlife, be aware with your dog that not everybody around the area is dog friendly.
“Delightful situation, very comfortable.” We stayed at Dragonfly in mid May.The log cabin was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. There is a particularly attractive veranda which overlooks an area of water with swans, ducks and other wild life to observe. It is a blissfully quiet area with easy walks nearby on the canal.
Within easy reach is the small market town of Marlborough with its good shops and restaurants, Avebury, with its stone circle and Manor House, Stonehenge, Salisbury and slightly further afield the little known but delightful National Trust properties of Great Chatfield Manor and The Courts Gardens.
Also recommended is the Steam Museum in Swindon.
We would certainly consider staying here again.
“Amazing” We had a fantastic holiday here its ideally located and so quiet, plenty of space for dogs and kids to walk and play too. The cabin was lovely and cosy we were so grateful to be able to get booked here literally days before we arrived and that's all thanks to Barry!
The cabin was really homely and our toddler loved sharing bunks with his big brother.
It really has everything you could need.
“Clean and modern lodge in an excellent location.” The lodge was small but perfect for our needs, it was clean and tidy with modern facilities. A good base from which to explore the area. The decking area offered views across to the river in a secluded part of the site. The highlight of the stay was the regular visits from the red squirrels on site. Additional surprise was the teabags, coffee, cleaning items and other basic day to day items provided, that mean you don't have to bring / purchase these at extra cost and using space in the car!!.
“Perfect Honeymoon” Milk Wood Lodge was the perfect place to spend our honeymoon! The garden is beautiful and the hot tub is a real luxury! The cabin in very homely and was spotless when we arrived. There is a log burner and a sauna which we loved! The log cabin village where the cabin is situated is nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend as a romantic getaway for couples!
“repeat visit will return!” stayed for the second time in number twelve, the house is amazing so lovely couldn't find fault with it. arrived on a Friday evening and within five minutes had a BBQ going that was so easy to work. such a lovely touch.

“A fantastic, cosy cabin in a picture perfect setting” Greeted on arrival by Karen who gave us a helpful tour of the cabin and tips on what there is to do and where to go in the area, many of which we visited. The cabin is everything we imagined a log cabin to be - solid timber, warm and cosy with a log fire, very well equipped, comfortable soft sofas and a very comfy bed which were very appreciated after a long day outside walking! The situation couldn't be better - surrounded by snow capped mountains and pine forest with fantastic walks. At the rear wild birds and red squirrels frequent feeders whilst a river runs past which are best viewed whilst washing the dishes! The only pub in the village is The Inn, which we visited several times, serving great home cooked food and guest ales. We were made to feel very welcome as was our dog who was provided with a bowl of water and a bonio! All in all a fantastic week was had, it was sad to leave but we will return soon.
“Lovely cabin” Spent a lovely 4 days here with our 6 year old granddaughter. The log cabin was ideal. Very clean, comfortable beds and overlooking the lake. Met on arrival by the owners who had left a very thoughtful gift for our granddaughter, much appreciated.
Well placed just off A1 so easy to reach coast and points of interest.
“Lakes, Lodge and Hot tub!” Fantastic lodge in a beautiful location!
Clean, spacious yet very cosy with all mod cons and everything you would need to make your stay easy and enjoyable.
Special mentions about the colourful mood lights over the bed!?!..., on site bar with a friendly atmosphere and of course the hot tub!
Wish we could have stayed longer :-)
“Excellent !” This lodge was brilliant and we really enjoyed our time unfortunately we only booked a week and would have loved to have stayed for 2. The lodge was perfect for 2 families with young children (between us we had 4 children aged 6 months, 1, 3 and 8 years) and it was very safe even though it was right next to the lake. Everything was included and Carol (the owner) even supplied slippers, toiletries and bath towels which was a lovely touch. I could go on for allot longer describing how brilliant it was and to be honest we really couldn't fault out stay at this very spacious lodge. We are definitely looking at booking this again next year.
“Cosy, well appointed love nest.” I have always wanted to stay in a log cabin & my wish came true. This is a new, simple but quality appointed cabin thoughtfully outfitted. Probably best suited to a couple but can accommodate children also. The bed is a dream. Response to my booking was prompt and reassuring. The hosts Rod & Steve were friendly & keen to ensure our comfort. There was a lovely basket of a few essential items & goodies to start us off which was very welcome as it saved us from having to find a shop. The location is easy for the sat/Nav and is in a lovely setting close to the New Forest. There are many other popular places & seaside within easy driving distance including shops & local inns. We were on holiday from AustraliaI and this was certainly the best highlight. We absolutely recommend this charming place and hosts for comfort, location & value. Roslyn & Tony from Down Under.
“Easter Break 2017” Amazing Easter break with family and friends!!
Was met by Patrick upon arrival to show us around the lodge and he went out of his way to make us feel really welcome and at home straight away.
Privelaged to be the first occupants of this fantastic lodge and amazing hot tub!!
Great location for visiting Northumberland and its many attractions nearby
Will be back soon

“Heaven” Enjoyed a 3 night stay with my husband to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Could not have asked for a better place, the lodge is cosy, warm and has all the facilities you need to provide a comfortable stay. The location is so peaceful and beautiful on the river we only wished the weather could have been better to enjoy the balcony more although we did have a BBQ! Perfect only wished we could have stayed longer - we will be back!
