“Great Place to visit” The house was great--very comfortable and Isidro was very helpful. We elected to take a shuttle from Santo Domingo rather than driving ourselves (at allen's suggestion) and were glad we did as we would have gotten lost. The roads are in good shape but traffic is wild and the roads are not well-marked. Costambar is a quiet, friendly little community and we chose after arrival not to pick up our rental car. Taxis from the La Sirena (like a super-WalMart) in Puerto Plata were ~30 pesos and Yenny's in market is a super easy walk and has a lot of things. There are several restaurants (mostly Italian) in easy walking distance and a couple of beach bars with good fish. I thought the house was more attractive than the photos and I liked the fact that we could leave the windows open and hear the ocean at night --very nice with breezes and very secure. The neighborhood feels very safe and people are friendly. I would return here if I come back to the DR. I recommend using Iguana Mama to go see the Damajagua falls (37 Charcos) and we did a fun half-day, low-key mountain bike ride with them as well which was fun.
