Houses in Egypt and Villas - Holiday Lettings - Holiday Rentals Egypt
“"Heaven on Earth', or should I say, "Heaven in Egypt"!” I stayed at Villa Bahri for 4 weeks over Christmas 2012. The owners were extremely helpful, in fact, nothing was too much trouble for them. They recommended places to eat, organised taxis and a boat trip for us, and directed us to the best places to buy jewellery, papyrus pictures and other souvenirs. The villa is clean and spacious and very nicely decorated in traditional Egyptian style. It was really useful having constant internet access. The garden is beautiful, and I could have spent more time in it had there not been so many wonderful things to do. There are several different seating areas, depending on how much sun you prefer. Eating breakfast on the balcony every morning is one of my treasured memories.
The surrounding area teems with interesting places: Egyptian restaurants, archeological sites, boat trips on the Nile, museums...and the Valley of the Kings is just down the road. The local Egyptian people were friendly and welcoming and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. The West Bank is much quieter and more rural than the city of Luxor, which was nice to visit, but I loved coming 'home' across the river in the evening to the peaceful setting of banana fields and palm trees.
I would definitely stay at Villa Bahri again and highly recommend it.
“Most relaxing” Beautiful apartment, near to the airport and all the nice places in Sharm, Naama and Nabq.
Also a super large terrace roof to enjoy the views towards the sea and the mountains.
Several small swimming pools and one very large.
Everything is very clean and secure.
Owner is very helpful with everything and responding quickly to any answers.
“Again! Again!!;)” The house looks very luxury and royal, with all the comforts. All windows view at the sea and sea is very close! All the shops-restaurants-diving under sideways. Our company had two one-year-old kids, and they felt happy and comfortable in the house. The owner is very friendly and hospitable, lives in the next house and always responds to any request. It's a great feeling-to live on the shore of the sea! We are so happy that we've visited Dahab and White house :)))
“Aesthetically pleasing - inside and out!” Booking the apartment was straightforward, the owner was easy to contact and always replied to my emails. We received a 'House Bible' prior to our holiday and so felt prepared by the helpful tips and ideas this contained. The pre-arranged pick-up and transfer to the apartment went without a hitch. The apartment itself exceeded our expectations; we are a family of five (three grown-up children aged 17, 20 and 23) and found the apartment to be very spacious, clean, comfortable, air-conditioning was effective, we loved the traditional/local pieces in the apartment and the views across the Nile from the bedrooms/balconies are breathtaking. More panoramic views are availbale from the roof-top area - children used this for circuit walking!
The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful - always lots of them around if needed but left us to approach them and weren't 'pushy'. We felt the environment very relaxing and safe. Only about 15 people at the resort when we were there in July. Rubbish and recycling collection points were discretely available and emptied regularly. The general areas were clean and rubbish-free and staff were preening the garden and maintaining the pool daily.
When going out on trips, it was easy to ask the boys at the office to get us a taxi. Ahmed, our driver, spoke good English, pointed out things en route and would always be waiting for us to take us back to the apartment. We found this easy and inexpensive - (approx 100le [£10] return trip to Luxor (approx. 20 mins away by car) for shopping (a necessity for us as not much available on site); 200le (£20) return trip to Valley of the Kings with 3 - 4 hours there. Apparently the white minibuses with black borders can be flagged down and cost a fraction of the price to go in to Luxor but we didn't do this. The office staff were also able to book us onto a hot air balloon trip (£30 each which ncluded pick-up from apartment, a boat trip across the Nile during which we had a cuppa and biscuit/sponge, bus to balloon, approx. 1 hour in air and then return to apartment). We found the heat from the burner quite hot so it was good to have a scarf/throw to protect shoulders!
As a base, we found the apartments ideal - close to areas of interest and a quiet haven to return to where we could relax, cool down in the pool and potter around undisturbed. The younger adults in the group were tempted by the snack-type food available and the fresh fruit drinks on offer every afternoon by the poolside were delicious (NOTE: - nothing available on Fridays though). There was a barbeque arranged by staff when we were there and this was great value for money - 60le (£6) per head with plenty of food, soft drinks, tea/coffee etc.
There are plans to provide further amenities at the resort eg. shop, eating places, gym as well as develop the next stages of accommodation which will extend the available walking area next to the Nile. Our local walks usually consisted of a visit to the Nubian Craft Village which is government run/funded - everyone happy to see us as we were the first visitors for several weeks we were told! Lovely selection of goods available here - pottery, leather, fabrics, jewellery and all priced.
Our family would probably have made use of a table tennis/pool table if either had been available; when they were young a small play area was always appreciated, but no such distractions at the resort yet. Although internet access was available, this was limited and you had to have your own device - no internet cafe facilities.
Would strongly recommend the apartment and the amazing local sights nearby (entrance to most attractions worked out at about £8 - £10 per person - student cards can be used to get a 50% discount so worth taking if there are a few!).
“Fabulous Holiday... and can't wait to return!” Back again to this amazing apartment - we stayed in September last year and it was a joy to return! The apartment was even better than we remembered and had a fabulous time. Can't thank Eric and Gill enough for making this such a homely and welcoming place to spend our holiday. It has everything you'd need for a more than comfortable stay and we can't fault the location. We're very relaxed and didn't do many excursions / trips so really utilised the pools on site, the beach for snokelling and the few relaxed bar / restaurants in Sharks Bay. We did go on a trip over to Tiran Island organised at the Oasis beach; we went early evening at 6ish and saw some amazing dolphins so would highly recommend this! The guys working here were really helpful and knowledgable too! Since our last visit there's a new supermarket which has opened which was really excellent and not far away so made everything very easy for us... the notes from the owners before we went with updated information was especially handy, so thank you! We can't wait to come back to this amazing spot!
“If Carlesberg did villas....!” Having stayed at hotels in Sharm, we decided we would like the privacy of a villa this time. What a great decision we made!
Although there were only two of us, the villa easily caters for larger groups - without tripping over each other! It is very spacious and has all mod cons in the middle of the desert....air con in every room, a fully stocked kitchen with every utensil you can think of and a large swimming pool - cleaned daily!
Excellent security, especially for femaie travellers or those with young children.
There is a great entertainment system with thousands of preloaded movies plus music piped throughout the villa and even out by the pool.
The owners of this villa, Donna and Ray, have obviously put a lot of thought into making this their (and your) home from home.
Located very centrally to all amenities, the house is literally just across the road from the beach. The airport is just a 10 minute drive away but as the flight path DOES NOT go overhead. No waving to the pilot from here!!
Don't even think about going anywhere else on your next trip - book Villa Sharm!
“Comfortable and well equipped apartment” We stayed at G-One appartment for 10 days in January with our 1 year old daughter and had a lovely relaxing holiday. The design of the appartment and equipment available meant we could spend our evenings having dinner on the terrace or watching a DVD, whilst our daughter slept in her own room.
There are decent beaches and restaurants (at hotels) within walking distance, or you can get a taxi to nice beaches and Naama Bay (large choice of bars and restaurants) for around £5. The guys running the resort were lovely, and nothing was too much trouble.
Slight annoyances - the swimming pools are not heated so were too cold in January for my daughter to use. Building work next to the complex was noisy at times.
Overall, we would certainly return to G-One.
“Great Villa, Fabulous Holiday, Amazing Experience Start to Finish” First time travelling to Egypt so a little nervous about what to expect. No need though as everything was great, particularly with the additional informmation/assistance and airport transfers arranged by the villa owner. I think that above everything else the one thing that made this holiday stand out from others we have taken, was the people we were dealing with. The villa owner went way beyond the call of duty to make sure everything possible was done to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. We were met at the airport by a private minibus then greeted at the villa by the owners English representative who showed us round the villa and who was on hand throughout the holiday should we have needed him. The resort had everything you could want, good resaurants, friendly shops that you did NOT get hassled in and plenty of activities if you could drag youself away from the amazing pool ! The Villa is perfectly located in a quiet area, halfway between the marina and downtown. Meaning the restaurants and bars in both areas are only about a 10 minute walk away. Bella Pizzeria in the marina offers excellent value for money and their Metre of Pizza has to be seen to be believed. The Upstairs Restaurant in Downtown was by far the best restaurant we visited albeit a little more expensive than most.
We missed it so much when we returned to the UK, we rebooked to go in April 2012 ! That in itself probably says more than the preeceding paragraph ?
