“Refreshing and relaxing location. A real standout.” For us,the barn loft was the standout of the 11 locations from our month on the road. We really enjoyed meeting Francie and enjoyed our stay at the HD Ranch. We think about it often. For the first time the accommodations and decor were actually better than the photos looked...and the photos looked pretty darn good. Second bedroom with the built-in desk is great for doing a little work when needed. WiFi and all. The floor to ceiling built-in storage provided more than enough space for our stuff. Plus a walk-in closet. Easy to stay here for a month or more. Waking up...with the sun shining in through the floor to ceiling bedroom windows made it easy to greet the morning. It was fun to watch the horses and pet the dogs. The barn cats even made a few evening visits to say hello. The huge shower has a built-in steam room...however we never took the time to figure it out. (We would have traded the steam room for a washer & dryer to avoid spending an afternoon in Durango at launder-mat. No big deal, after all this is a working ranch.) This is a super clean barn. 24 horses in the pastures. No offensive barn odors. No horse flies. No piles of manure. It truly was a refreshing and relaxing visit. We certainly look forward to doing it again.
