Finland holidays

Finland is the perfect holiday destination for those wanting to get away from it all. The vast country is covered with forests and dotted with lakes. Finland is the land of the midnight sun, and during those summer months coastal areas offer great fishing and sailing whilst away from the sea the landscape is ideal for walkers. The chance to explore the great outdoors brings many visitors to Finland, and the many National Parks are breathtaking and extremely well cared for. The capital Helsinki offers more metropolitan delights, with a comparatively mild climate and some wonderful 19th century architecture and a host of festivals and events during the summer.

Amazing cottage in the woods

We had a really great time in Ari's cottage. Ari and Anni were great hosts and received us with nice sandwiches, ice cream and coffee! The location is really cool, nice to walk around, pick berries, swim... Ari has 2 nice kayaks to rent and he let us use his fishing material. They also have a nice sauna and Jacuzzi. Myrskila is really close by. It is a very small town and that doesn't have a lot of things but all the essentials one can get there. Poorvo is a nice town only 35 km away, lots of restaurants and so forth. Helsinki is only 75 min away also. For us it was just perfect. Only one detail. For a big family one of the bathrooms is not very well placed and if your family is complicated about those things that is something to consider. We were 5 + a baby and had really no problem. Highly recommended!see more

Truly amazing place

I can’t recommend this cozy cottage highly enough. It is so beautifully done and has everything you could possibly need, the owners have thought of everything. Our 3 children couldn’t believe their eyes when we arrived to a personal letter from Father Christmas (the owners had so kindly organised for us)!! The position is perfect, only a short stroll or sledge to town and yet you feel like you’re in the forest, just magical thank you so much xxsee more
Peltoniemi cottage
This is a very peaceful and quiet place

We had a wonderful family holiday in this cottage. This is a very peaceful and quiet place. The cottage is well equipped, clean and charming with a wonderful view of the lake. There is a private territory (quite a big one) and you can go down to the lake. My husband and children rode a boat and were so excited about this! The separate place for barbecue is very convenient as well. We would be really glad to return to this cottage. Thank you for hospitality!see more

Fun With Santa
An amazing winter wonderland

Our stay in Finland, organised with Fun with Santa was fantastic. Jane was superb in organising everything so smoothly and making sure we had some excellent trips sorted out. Everything ran very smoothly. Akoslompolo is a beautiful place and there was so much to do. The cabin was perfect for our family of four and we will definitely be hoping to go again some time.see more
Villa Nytorp
Wonderful experience in the Turku archipelago

We’ve stayed at Villa Nytorp a couple of times now, once this summer and again now in the winter. Loved it both times and will probably be coming back more times. The villa is situated on a hill a couple of hundred meters from the main road connecting Turku with the archipelago. This means the villa provides for peace and quiet and a lovely getaway from the busyness of the city. There is plenty of forest and lawn around which the kids love since they can run around freely and play. The villa is also big enough to fit our family of four more than comfortably and is recently renovated. The beach is a couple of hundred meters away down a rather steep small road. This is both nice and a bit tricky as you need to decide to go to the beach but on the other hand the kids can play freely outside the house without needing to fear that they go play in the water. The beach is very nice with the kids and the boats going by to the nearby cafe/restaurant Sattmark were a big hit with our son. Sattmark is situated just across the main road from the villa and we recommend you go visit for either a coffee and fresh buns or great dinner. The archipelago town of Nauvo is only about half an hour drive away and a nice destination for a day trip. You can also visit Korppoo which is a bit further at the same time. Turku is also about half an hour away in the other direction and really nice in the summer. If your kids love Moomin, the Moomin world in Naantali is highly recommended as a day trip. The only thing we would like is for the beach to be a bit closer, overall, however, this is a really nice place well worth a visit. As mentioned, we’ll surly be coming back again.see more
