“Perfect Location for Team Building” A group of 12 work colleagues stayed at the house for a Team Building event in the Lake District. We deceided on a house rather than staying at hotels as it not only allowed us to be together as a group in the evenings but it also worked out at a fraction of the cost of 12 rooms in a hotel for 2 nights. The house itself has many large rooms and whilst there was 12 of us in there, it never seemed cramped or crowded. We could all easily sit in the lounge, but also the upstairs pool room with TV and Sofas was great to get together in the evenings, with amazing views over Morecambe Bay. In addition there were several areas where people who needed to work quietly could do so, without being disturbed by the bigger group. Ross Accomodation were also very flexible with us for arrival and departure times to fit in with peoples early arrivals, but also for us to have a meeting on the last day before we left. With broadband Internet and the Huge dining table, we were as effective as any meeting room in the office! The bedroom accomodation was also excellent, once we found all the rooms tucked around the house. Many of the rooms were ensuite, with steam showers and Jacuzzi baths around the house as well. Outside the gardens were huge with covered areas for the Bar B Que, and also a Table tennis table and a trampoline! We cooked outside both nights we were there even though it was late September, the covered areas giving good shelter. The neighbours were far enough away thet you would not disturb them talking in the garden. Overall an excellent environment for the event, we shall definitely be recommending it to other colleagues to do the same.

“Breathtaking!” The boathouse really is unique and special! Myself and my partner spent three nights in the boathouse which really was the best trip we have been on. The view from the windows are breathtaking. The binoculars provided made it even better to see the stunning views of the lake. Upon arrival there were rose petals, chocolates and champagne which were a lovely touch. The boathouse is in a great location - 10 minute drive from Penrith where there are superstores and about 40 minutes from Lake Windermere. The boathouse itself is immaculate and is a home away from home. The amenities are outstanding - there is everything in the boathouse you could need. The DVD selection is also very good! Jayne was extremely helpful and friendly and she went above and beyond with the information she provided before the trip. I highly recommend the boathouse - you will be left with the amazing memories that we are!

“Ideal little retreat for exploring the lakes” I booked the barn for myself, my wife, my 5 year old and 6 month old, along with 2 dogs and another family due to its relative remoteness but also due to it's beautiful surroundings. 3 bedrooms were more than enough for 4 adults, 3 kids and 3 dogs! The accommodation has everything you could need for a short or even longer break and the home was immaculate when we arrived. Dish washer, washing machine; it's all there. The best point of the property is the upstairs living room/ kitchen/ diner; a great space for eating and socializing and a very comfortable sofa. There is a pub about 15 minutes walk away (the sportsmans inn) and although the new owner Chris is not selling hot food, drinks are aplenty and he plans to offer hot food soon. Driving to Keswick takes around 15 minutes and even less to Penrith. We found a great pub called the boot and shoe inn in a look local village, Greystoke; great food and service. The only downside I found was the upside down configuration but that was mainly down to having a 3 and 5 year old running around at 6am! If you don't have little ones then that shouldn't bother you too much. Be wary of the owner of the house across from the barn. Very argumentative when we couldn't get parked on the grass one evening so had to park outside his house. I explained we had 2 young children but he wasnt having it. I continued to park there out of spite from that point! Overall a fantastic holiday accommodation set in idyllic surroundings and we will be back. Thanks again Katie.

“Fabulous Cottage” Our group included 8 people: 4 adults and 4 children (6-8 years old). The cottage is comfortable and has everything needed for a very enjoyable stay. We kept being surprised of how mindful the owners are of the cottage guests: you can even find a drawer with spare reading glasses, in case you forgot yours! The cottage has four good size and comfortable rooms, two bathrooms on the same floor as the bedroom plus a toilet room on the ground floor. Large kitchen with everything needed. Big and confortable living room with a fire place we have used every day given the cold weather. The house has a very impressive collection of DVDs, CDs and video games. There is WiFi in the cottage. There is also a separate game room with football table, pool table, pinball machine, etc. We expected a big garden, but it was even bigger and nicer than what we expected, and it even has a garden hut. The children had a great time playing outdoors, notwithstanding the very cold weather. The cottage is in a small and very quite little village. The owners provided very useful directions for pubs and supermarkets. The cottage is optimally located to explore the Hadrian's Wall and its forts. We all loved staying at the Old Country Chapel and highly recommend it.

“The perfect location for a Lake District holiday” Beck View Cottage is in the perfect location for a Lake District holiday, especially if you are a keen fell walker. The cottage is on the route up to Helvellyn, and the garden affords spectacular views over the fells. The perfect place to drink tea, eat cake, and reflect on one's efforts after a long walk. The house is cosy and warm, so even on a wet winter's day, it's a very welcoming environment, and has all the facilities you would expect to make it a great holiday cottage, which is why we keep coming back. The Traveller's Rest pub is only 5 minutes walk away, and offers huge portions,which you will feel totally justified eating after a day out on the fells. A few minutes walk beyond that, and you are at the lakeside. A ferry service runs the length of the lake, and you can also hire boats for a day's messing about.

“Very comfortable bungalow, quiet location, beautiful garden and lovely views” Lothlorien is a very comfortable, well equipped bungalow set in a lovely spacious garden with a summerhouse. It is within 20 mins drive of Lake Windermere, is about 4 miles from Cartmel and is a short walk to the promenade path leading to Grange Over Sands with a variety of interesting shops and cafes. The owners David and Pam were very friendly and could not do enough for us and the information provided in the bungalow about the area was excellent, in our time of renting we have only met the owners on two occasions. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed as a family and there I made good use of the Summerhouse to disappear for a quiet read. The beds were the most comfortable I've slept in. The bungalow also has a lovely modern spacious bathroom. During our time at Lothlorien we visited the South lakes, Morecambe, Keswick, Derwent Water, Hawkshead, Windermere and Coniston as well as taking the sea road from Ulverston to Barrow on a wet afternoon where we discovered Piel Castle. We also attended Masquepony Festival at Cartmel which my 15 year old daughter found very entertaining. An ideal location for visiting the Lake District in more comfortable surroundings would be difficult to find. For the majority of the holiday the sun shone and the beautiful surrounding were a pleasure to visit. I look forward to coming back to the Lake District and Lothlorien in the future. I have been asked to provide a comment on what could be better - regarding the bungalow there is nothing other than access to a washing line (though my husband says if anything sits still for long enough it gets washed) and just for information only, Grange Over Sands has very little for teenagers, though that was not a problem in the case of my daughter as we travelled out daily. Regarding Holiday Lettings, it was not possible to book the dates I wanted from Monday to Monday - these dates were only offered as 2 short breaks - Monday to Friday and Friday to Monday. With the agreement and help of David and Pam we were accepted for the dates we needed and experienced a lovely holiday.

“Ideal Pet Friendly Accommodation” Situated between Ambleside and Bowness, just 15 min walk to Brockhole for the ferry crossings. The lodge is clean, comfortable, situated in a quiet location on the park. We would definitely recommend and would definitely book again. The only thing that is a bit of a shame and it is nothing to do with the lodge at all, is that the bar/restaurant at the entrance of the park does not have an area where dogs are allowed, as I say, nothing to do with the lodge, which was great.
