“Fantastic villa, peaceful location yet walking distance to beach” This is a lovely villa, well furnished, and very clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a very generous welcome pack of food. We spent most of our time outdoors by the pool, enjoying the sun loungers and the BBQ. The kids enjoyed the table tennis too. For rainy days there were plenty of books, as well as games & colouring for the kids, and Sky TV. The location was peaceful and very private, yet easy walking distance to the beach. Tamariu is a small town, it doesn't have many shops, but there are plenty of restaurants along the beach front. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday with a young family. The villa was so comfortable that we didn't venture too far. We did a day trip to Barcelona, it was a very easy drive and took just over one hour. Other days were spent exploring the nearby beaches, and the wonderful pottery shops at La Bisbal.

Beaches

Did you know that Costa Brava, Spain’s northernmost Costa, has some of the best Blue Flag beaches in Europe? With its rugged cliffs, hidden coves, friendly fishing villages and vibrant beach towns, it’s a destination you’ll keep coming back to again and again.

The entire coast is worth a visit, but some favourites include Tossa de Mar’s two Blue Flag beaches and Lloret de Mar, with its bustling waterfront bars and restaurants.

No matter which beach you choose, there is fun for all the family with diving, snorkelling and sailing available along the shore.

Things to do

Costa Brava is fast making a name for itself as a food lover’s paradise, with several Michelin-starred chefs and delicious, locally produced wines. Some of the region’s specialities include X, Y & Z.

There’s also plenty of culture on offer. Artist Salvador Dali was born nearby and there are three dedicated museums to his incredible work, including the painter’s home at Cadaques. Costa Brava is also home to some of the most important Greco/Roman and Iberian archaeological and historical sites on the continent.

Lovely quiet homely villa with superb pool

Location was good with most amenities near such as various supermarkets Aldi and Carrefour. Beach is a 5-10 minute drive at Sant Antoni and there is plenty of parking along near there with Restaurants etc,. The water park Aquadiver is literally a 5 min drive and is a fantastic day out. You are pretty much within distance of most of the resorts along this particular stretch of coast due to the close proximity of the A7. The villa itself is well equipped and has pretty much everything you need. Beds are comfy and the air conditioning was a relief of a night. Lovely apartment, lively place, amazing beaches & great hosts.

Paul & Roser were excellent hosts. Roser Whatsapp me a few days before leaving to arrange approx. arrival time & met us at the apartment on time-I think this is a great idea. Very professional, friendly & informative recommending beaches, tapas in Palamos (thank you very much), hiring kayaks, bikes well anything you needed & the same excellent service on departure. The apartment was exactly as described. Small, modern, well equipped with cooker rings, dish washer, sandwich maker, toaster, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, pots, pans etc literally everything you need. The fridge was ok but didn’t get super cold. The air con was brilliant & for us two apartment was perfect with very comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water & powerful shower. The view of the mountains is wonderful from inside apartment & from small balcony where the sun comes around about 15.00 hrs. Small washing machine (top loader) was great & clothes dryer attached to balcony rail worked well for drying our clothes-pegs provided too. A few parts of the apartment has wear & tear since the photos were taken i.e wood around bathroom sink but still in reasonable good condition. Parking is available outside the apartment but it’s not allocated. There were times when we had to park on the road outside the complex, then when a space was available we’d bring the car in. The swimming pool was great for us but no toilets there. Platja d’Aro is a lively place in the evenings about 10 minute walk down the hill & 15 mins back up. Nearest beaches are about 15 minute walk & are beautiful, well maintained, clean with bars & food huts. You can hire loungers & brollie shades for €7.00 each. We hired bikes for €10 each (€50 deposit/returnable) & cycled down the coast to explore other areas. Everywhere was lively, busy beaches, towns & villages with lots going on. Good Apartment in Great Location

Just spent 9 days at this nice apartment in Fenals. As a couple in our 50s, we found this an excellent location within easy reach of Fenals Beach, bars and restaurants in the Fenals area and 3 well stocked supermarkets. We loved the restaurants El Rancho and Leman's. It is about a 25 minute walk into Lloret de Mar centre which means that this apartment is well away from the bustle and noise of the clubs and discos aimed at the younger generation. Public buses were cheap and very reliable and we used them to visit Tossa de Mar, Blanes and Girona all within 35 minutes of Lloret de Mar. The apartment was clean and comfortable with a brand new washing machine. The owner Manuel met us at the apartment with the keys. He was polite and friendly and Google Translate came in very handy as he spoke very little English and our Spanish/Catalan was even worse! We had everything we needed in the apartment but it would have been nice to have had a few English channels on the TV and possibly a DVD player for an odd night in. The wi-fi connection was very good so no problem accessing the internet. The pool area was very clean but there were no sunbeds probably because this is mainly a residential block, We just took our towels down and lay on the grassed area. Very glad that the apartment had air conditioning as it was very warm at night. The outside terrace is spacious and a great place for outdoor dining or just lounging on the sunbeds. … see more
