“Wonderful Villa - perfect location” Having rented villas in previous years for our family of 7 adults & 5 children (ranging in age from 6 to 68) and preferring not to rent cars whilst on holiday, we found that most villas - despite saying car was not essential - were only near a handful of amenities, so wow what a great position this villa is in, a couple of minutes walk from a small supermarket within the exclusive Plaza del Duque shopping centre and only a little further to the beach and loads of restaurants and entertainment. Security wise it is brilliant as there is no access at the front and a private code operated gated road to the only entrance at the back.
As it was peak season & the temperature was in the mid to high 30's we did not stray far from the villa during the day, apart from a few trips to the beach. The pool was great (plenty of toys and inflatables) and sun loungers very comfortable, with 4 parasols and a shade over the outside dining table. Children and adults made much use of the table tennis table both in the heat of the day and evening, likewise our boys used the little football area despite the heat (6 footballs lost in total 4 at the front and 2 at the back) but well worth it for the fun!!
Accommodation wise - we were three families plus grandma & grandad and each family had plenty of space on each of the three floors, with the air con being very efficient (non in the lower floor lounge but not too bad) and it was in the lower floor bedroom.
Bathroom towels were waiting for us and there were a few pool towels but not as many as we thought there would be from previous reviews, so glad we took some of our own.
Kitchen was lovely with quality appliances and large fridge-freezer (small fridge also on bottom floor), so we could keep a supply of cold drinks ready to transfer into the main fridge. Lounge very comfortable and loved how it was straight out to the pool.
We ate out every night and a number of restaurants along Fanabe beach offered 3 course meals for just under 9 euros, and we were surprised by the choice & quality of them, we found Trip Adviser reviews were generally accurate. Being 12 of us we found that whilst the small nearby supermarket was fine for everyday items like bread, milk etc it was quite expensive (as is usual) and did not stock everything we needed. Mercadona supermarket is only about 4 euros in a taxi but we registered online before we went on holiday and put in 3 online orders during our 2 week stay and they will deliver for just over 7 euros, with prices much lower.
Walking from the Villa, within a couple of minutes you can turn right to Playa del Duque beach (small but really nice, though sunbeds expensive) and we were a bit concerned with the rough sea and current which knocked the children over. Go left and down the steps and it is a really pleasant walk with great views round to Fanabe beach. We preferred this as during the day the sea appeared safer and cafes for drinks & snacks were handy and in the evening the entertainment and restaurants were in this area.
After 2 weeks we were not ready to go home but unfortunately we had to. Although we did not see Valery, we did send a few e-mails about minor matters and he dealt with them promptly. He was also very obliging in allowing us a later check out time (use of lounge, kitchen and pool area for an extra couple of hours) as we had a late flight - although bear in mind this will not always be possible if the next people are checking in as soon as they are allowed, as cleaning has to be done. The information we received from him before the holiday regarding all aspects of the villa was clear and detailed and codes, keys etc were exactly as advised.
Thank you Valery for the use of your fantastic villa - we will be back.
“SUPERB VILLA IN A PEACEFUL LOCATION” We have just returned from 12 days at this villa. We were with four friends and because we did the booking were allowed to have the upstairs room, which we called the 'presidential suite'! Huge bed and bedroom and dressing room and lovely bathroom with two basins, shower and bath. Also large terrace with sea view.
The villa was spotlessly clean with beautiful furniture and well equipped kitchen. We also made good use of the swimming pool which was heated. It was a bonus to have pool towels supplied and the sunbeds and outside furniture were appreciated. The BBQ was brilliant - my husband wanted to bring it home with him! We also appreciated the fact that whilst only 10 minutes drive from good restaurants and the coast, the villa was in a quiet location and very peaceful at night. Paul, the owner, was very helpful from the start and responded to my e.mails straight away. The directions from the airport were good and he was there to greet us upon arrival. We would love to come back again.
“Wow! Amazing villa, perfect stay” The villa was booked for 4 us of (2 adults and 2 teenagers) for a week. Jennifer was helpful and attentive, communicating with us before our holiday with information, making sure that someone was there to meet us and show us around, helping us with ideas on places to eat and finally very kindly organising an early morning taxi to take us to the airport when we left.
The villa its self is amazing, the pool and the outdoor areas were clean, well equipped and welcoming. There was even sun bed towels for us to use. We made use of the BBQ almost every day and it was lovely to have a dishwasher in the very well equipped kitchen.
The beautifully decorated lounge (with huge TV, lots of DVD's books, board games to use) was perfect after a days walking or swimming.
The bedrooms were comfortable and extra bedding was available along with fans if it got too hot. Nothing was missed to make our stay perfect.
The games room was fabulous and we spent a couple of evening playing pool and darts - perfect for teenagers (and adults!)
The surrounding area is quiet - which we loved - but nothing was more than a short walk away (supermarket/taxi rank/restaurant/bus stop) and we made the most of being able to hop on the Titsa buses to head to the beach/Los Christanos etc which was a mere €6 for 4 of us each way - so cheap and easy and reliable too. We even took the Titsa bus to Teide for the day - again a total bargain and buses easy to use.
We will be returning to Villa Zen as I cannot think of anywhere else in Costa Adeje I'd rather stay. A perfect base to explore that part of the island from.
“Spacious apartment and lovely complex” First time we had booked with this owner and we stayed in 224. A spacious apartment with everything we could need even a kettle and toaster. We have stayed in several apartments on this complex and this was the largest one to date. We had a lovely stay and would certainly stay in this apartment again. The complex is great with the added bonus free entertainment at the pool bar some days during the week. We return again and again to Garden City as it is so close to everything. The owner, Deanna Dewey, was easy to deal with and I will certainly be recommending to family and friends and we will be booking with this owner again.
“Fantastic Villa for a family or a group of friends” The villa provided everything you could possible need for a great family holiday.Good sized pool with plenty of sun beds.
The ensuite bedrooms each had there own outside space so you had your own space.
I would recommend you have a car, although away from the main attractions it was easy to get a taxi if we decided not to drive
We have already decided that we will book this villa again the next time we go away as a family
“Great apartment, well located.” We have just enjoyed a super break in this clean, modern and comfortable apartment which had everything we needed. The sea views are lovely and the complex facilities very good. Hoping we'll be able to return soon.
“Good apartment but could be excellent with a little more investment.” The apartment is in a beautiful location handy for transport to La Caleta and Playas. The rooms are clean, modern and of a decent size. Our main criticisms would be the bed which was uncomfortable, and the settee which was also uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Mr Ruch did carry our suitcases from the car park to the flat which was a great help. As mentioned by previous guests the WIFI was virtually non existent but we overcame that as many of the local bars offered free WIFI.
“all as advertised, and then some!” A great house with all amenities, warm pool, lovely terrace, grill patio and outdoor dinner table and sun beds for the whole gang! Even pool toys for the children. Very practical, spacious and nicely modern, a home away from home (even washing machine and tumble dryer. :). Nicely situated, calm quarters at excellent range from shopping center, good food shops, tennis courts, beaches and the airport. From first contact up to final thank you mail, excellent service from Paul. Everything went more than smoothly and we absolutely recommend this! Thank you for a wonderful New Year's week! Granny & 2 families + children (ages 4.....14).
“Highly recommended” Lovely studio.Comfortable bed . Spare set of sheets plenty of towels. Only thing missing is a toaster.Beautiful walk in shower.
Disappointed it’s been booked for next year.
Will definitely be back,
“Lovely” A great studio , well kept with modern kitchen and appliances.the pool area is a busy area so be up at 9 am to get you're loungers l never had a problem getting mine.the complex is in a great area lots of pubs & restaurants . All in all a great holiday destination
“Home from home” Love staying at this apartment , everything you need in kitchen and nice comfy beds ,we had a hire car but its no problem getting a taxi back up the hill wont hesitate to recommend this to other guests
“FantastIc outside space” Stunning apartment, great location ideal for my husband and I and young son. All you could wish for in terms of space, especially in respect of the amazing balcony that allows you to enjoy the long evenings and the pool area was safe for a 5 year old. We felt very secure in the gated environment. Had a great holiday and would love to return. Thanks
“House on Parque San Eugenio” The house itself is really nice, cosy and designed so that the sun in patio areas doesn't intrude into the house so that it remains cool,
Beds are comfy (though pillows were too soft for our liking)
The owner informed us after booking with only a few days before we left that the pool was being refurbished and might not be ready. In fact it wasn't ready until the day before we left and even then the treatments in the pool meant that we couldn't use it.
Ths was disappointing and meant that we had to "infiltrate" local hotels to use their pools.
Location is quiet for such a busy area and we were not disturbed at all at night.
Prepare for some hill climbing and you should enjoy this property with plenty to do in the surrounding area.
