“We had a wonderful stay!” Kitchen, laundry, and entertainment facilities, plus it was quiet at night, and with a spectacular view on the deck. We could not have asked for more.
A short walk down the stairs and you are at the marina and centre street of Manarola, or another short walk away and you are at the tunnel to the train station.
The people at arbaspaa gave us excellent service including some extraordinary service when we misplaced a backpack!
“Very hard to leave!” We stayed in Mediterraneo 2 for five nights in September 2013 and could easily have stay much longer. From my other accommodation experiences in the Cinque Terre, this two bedroom apartment is comparatively roomy and feels very light and modern. Fantastic views over the Mediterranean and the villages from the balcony and the sound of the sea inspired us to leave the balcony doors and windows open most of the time. Most evenings for dinner we'd buy food and local wine from one of the two 'delis' in the village and enjoy it with the view from our apartment.
In my opinion, Manarola is the pick of the villages as a base. Not as touristy as Monterosso, as busy as Vernazza or Riomaggiore, and while Corniglia was fun to explore I'm not sure why anyone would actually stay there.
After some of the other customer service in Italian holiday rentals on this trip (Rome - non-existent, Florence - efficient but stern) the customer service from arbaspaa was warm and friendly, very helpful and a real delight. We would definitely book through them again.
Pros - one of the best apartment views on the Cinque Terre; bright and modern apartment; fantastic customer service
Cons - as with most places in the Cinque Terre it's all about the stairs if you want the view, we all had glutes of steel after our five days climbing to and from our apartment
“Great location, needs a few improvements.” The town of Manarola is beautiful. The apartment is in a great location. It's spacious. We loved the balcony. The staff is courteous and friendly. The negatives; the washing machine did not drain properly, so we had to wring out our clothes before hanging them on the clothesline. The shower door fell off when we went to slide it open. The floors needed a good sweeping and washing. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and have many happy memories of the Cinque Terre.
“Perfect Getaway” This place is in a perfect spot to enjoy all that Cinque Terre has to offer.
The rooftop patio area has a great view and is a cute little place to enjoy a meal.
The place was clean, comfortable and easy to find. Corniglia was such a great place to stay. Just a short walk to the other villages (35 minutes) and only a 7 minute walk from the train station.
Corniglia is the "quiet" village, but everything so is easily accessible.
I dream of coming back here one day.
