“What a Pleasure!” What a pleasure it was to stay in such a quaint, comfortable cottage and an idyllic a village. The cottage is furnished in an elective style that suits this historical building. The kitchen is a great setting to gather round and chew the cud over dinner after a day of exploring. The modern facility of en suite bathrooms for each room has been afforded in a dwelling that was built 100s of years ago. Beds are comfortable, just a shame about the noise from early morning shop deliveries across the road, but that’s to be expected in such a central location. On the other hand there is the convenience of many eateries, food outlets and other shops. On street parking wasn’t a problem and the small seating area outside was appreciated.
“Mr” We have stayed in many holiday rentals, but this was by far the best. The owner is really helpful and the cottage had everything we needed and more! Location is superb, we enjoyed ourselves so much we will without doubt be back to stay!
“The perfect place to stay in Chipping Campden” We were fortunate to spend a week in this gorgeous cottage in the delightful village of Chipping Campden. Twine Cottage is just charming, the interior is tastefully decorated and yet is in keeping with the age and character of the cottage. It was very cosy, quiet and romantic and the bathroom especially is wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and the fresh, crisp bedlinen reminded us of staying in a first class hotel. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The owner has left lots of useful information about local restaurants, shops and pubs and local places of interest. There are some great places to eat in the village especially the Noel Arms and The Eight Bells and lots of lovely walks to take nearby.
Even though it was quite cold we had one sunny day where we sat out in the lovely private garden and both agreed that we had to come back again in the summer months.
Like the reviews in the visitor’s book I can only think of positive things to say about this cottage – it was just blissful and we can’t wait to stay there again!
“Like home in a peaceful and lovely village.” We stayed here for 4 weeks with an 11 year old and the accomodation was wonderful. Tony and Felicity were most friendly and helpful (and we may have needed more "direction" than some since we were visiting from the U.S!) Yet we had plenty of privacy. This is a very peaceful location and we really enjoyed having the city noise replaced by the sounds of the village; cows, sheep, pigeons, rustling leaves and our very favorite -the ringing of the church bells.
Some of the best things: *Number one of course the hosts Tony & Felicity. Then
*The kitchen is very well stocked with pans, dishes & quality appliances so it was easy to cook real meals, and even to make fresh jams. *All the rooms were spacious so even to spend a day "in" never felt cramped, and lots of reading material, CDs, videos are provided. *The furniture is very comfortable, and everything up to date ,well kept and very clean. * Private garden is beautiful *Lots of literature about the area available to plan day trips etc.* The location is outstanding, especially if you like the peace and quiet of a rural setting. The village has 2 pubs within walking distance and we found both good. *The foot paths through the village are worth days of exploring! And don't go without a camera.*Other villages with shops are very close (Shipston and Stratford) *Good base location to tour Cotswolds villages, Stratford and Warwick.
Usually by the end of a trip we are missing home and ready to go back, but in this case no one wanted to leave. We were ready to just move right in permanently because this place is perfect.
