Regarding this review I have this to say: our vila is a self-catering vila and when guests have late arrivals we choose to leave the keys at the security gate (which is quite common actually) so that guests can arrive at the hour they choose and also it doesn't infringe on our work and life in general. We have normal check-in hours from 15:00 to 19.00. However, if a guest arrives at midnight we are obviously not going to meet them at that hour. Contact with the guests is optional and normally occurs if the guest so wishes it or needs help or assistance. There is a house manual with all the pertinent information in loco. In this case Robert, contrary to what he is saying now, never either called or even sent me a message requesting any assistance of any sort. We are always available to help our guests in any matter, all they have to do is let us know. This did not occur during the stay and furthermore I was not even informed that the door was completely ruined by some sort of extreme flooding in the bathroom until after he had left. Usually, if something is broken or not functioning, guests contact us immediately. Strangely enough, I only received a half-baked excuse about the door having bloated due to excess humidity after they left. These allegations are ridiculous considering this vila has been functioning fine until they arrived (and for years actually) and if a bathroom door cannot tolerate a little bath steam there would not be any doors at all! I can only conclude that the basic fact here is that Robert feels disgruntled because he had to pay for the door which we had to be replace because it was completely ruined. I suppose he expected us to just put up with lies about the misuse and lack of respect shown to our property. We are fair, and normally would not charge a guest for some small damage as long as they own up to it but this was not the case. He could have told me to come over so that he could explain what occurred but he chose not to.
I only hope that anybody reading this review has the good sense to interpret it with a grain of salt.
