“The best equipped property we've ever stayed in!” We spent the October half-term staying at Limun Barn and we couldn't have asked for a better location or accommodation. The owners had thought of everything you can need for a short break - the kitchen was extremely well equipped and when we had a wet afternoon we had a relaxing afternoon watching the DVDs and the playing with the games provided.
Highly recommend the Hare and Hounds - home cooked food and cosy. We also recommend doing a donkey walk with Chris - you will find his details on the West Dorset tourist information website. Plus we did the ghost walk in Bridport - it inspired our daughter to write a ghost story for her English homework!
We have a great time - thank you Carol and family.
We were a three generation family with very small children and we all loved the barn, which had everything we needed. The family pictures and nick-nacks made it feel very homely. The garden and stream… More

“Great Family Weekend” This is a beautiful family home, which was excellent for our family to get together to celebrate ours Mums Birthday, there was 6 adults and 3 children. The pool was warm and clean, and it was a lovely welcome to have fresh bread, wine, butter and milk waiting for us when we arrived. The views were stunning and peaceful.
I would Highly recommend Felicity's Farm Shop for any grocery needs or something a bit different.
The children non stop played either in the pool, swings, football or in the snug room which had a selection of board games.... we even had a great game of hide and seek!!!!
We drove a short distance to Seatown (5 min drive) and had a long walk over the hills, a play on the beach and a lovely drink in The Anchor, although you don't have to drive anywhere to go for a walk as if you turn left out of the drive you are literally in the fields.
Once again truly lovely home and would defiantly recommend to friends.
The only problem we had was turning on the tv !!! (to watch Glastonbury) took a while to figure out.
The house is perfect for a family who will like to have beautiful memories! We enjoyed the view, nature and relaxing times! The place is lovely in november but i will love to see it in summer time too… More

“Bliss in Burton Bradstock” Quite simply it was one of the best family holidays we ever had. The cottage is set in a charming tranquil village of Burton Bradstock which had the signature hallmarks of a quaint dorset village. The cottage is a reasonable size for a family of four with two spacious double bedrooms, a comfortable sitting area a well equiped kitchen. It also boasts a delightful garden in the back where we enjoyed alfresco dining as well as a restful place to read and enjoy the peace!
The market town of Bridport is only a short 5 minute drive away (Sainsbury Supermarket). We also made a few trips to Lyme and Charmouth which are quite close by.
Another plus was being just a short 10 minute walk from the beach where I managed to fish a couple of times. Although I did not catch anything this was more than compensated by a pod of dolphins that i was privileged to watch as they were chasing mackerel up the shore. The beach is where we spent our final evening where we enjoyed a modest bbq watching the sun set.
My thanks to Simon for contributing towards a lovely holiday.

“Fabulous, Full of Character House in beautiful setting” Have been staying at The Old Rectory for the last 8 years with our children growing from tots to teens. It is absolutely perfect for a large group looking for a secluded, secure environment, but with the advantage of being close to stunning beaches and coastal attractions. We have experienced much the area has to offer from fossil hunting, seaside activities, coastal walks (you can walk from the house to Eype), Dorset cream teas, the Maze Maize and many other local attractions. The house itself is ideally located, but a car is essential to go exploring. The local town of Bridport offers everything you need, with large supermarket to small, unique shops and a fabulous butcher. The Illchester Arms pub, opposite the house is recommend for a lovely pub lunch and has a lovely large garden. The house itself is full of character and during the last few years we have noticed vast improvements in extra shower rooms and en-suites, which have certainly made life more comfortable. The kitchen is small for the size house, but this has never been an issue, as there is a dining room next door and it offers all mod cons. My favourite room is the huge dining room overlooking the garden and with all our children seated it still looks large! We all have a favourite bedroom, each one unique and plenty to offer with a variety of twin rooms and double rooms, with extra beds in some. We enjoy each year trying to guess which ornaments, furniture or pictures are new as the owners often add quirky items which add to the charm. You really get a sense of history when staying at The Old Rectory and we hope to continue to visit for many years to come.

“Fantastic farmhouse in beautiful unspoilt countryside” We had a hugely enjoyable long weekend at North End farmhouse with friends to celebrate a 30th birthday. The farmhouse has a generous amount of living space for the number of people it accommodates, including a large kitchen and a huge dining table, a snug/TV room with a large log burner and a large flat screen TV and DVD player; perfect for keeping warm and entertained on cold evenings.
The farmhouse also has a larger more formal long room including comfy seating and a games area along with an original open fire place. 4 of the 5 bedrooms have beautiful views overlooking the surrounding countryside – an amazing sight to wake up to! Because it was December we didn't make much use of the garden, but there was a large BBQ which would make the garden a nice place to hang out in warmer weather. The weather was relatively mild for mid-December (around 10 degrees C), but the AGA and the central heating kept the house plenty warm enough for us.
With the exception of the owner's property, which is attached to the farmhouse, and a small house just behind the farm, there are hardly any other buildings in sight, and the farmhouse gives direct access to footpaths for hiking. We really enjoyed the freedom to go out for a walk before breakfast, and in the afternoons took the opportunity to go down to Seatown, just 10 minutes drive away, to go for a clifftop walk and sample the beer in the Anchor Inn - what a spectacular location for a pub.
Eddie was very accommodating, and made sure that we knew where everything was and what to do if we needed anything or had any problems. Once he'd shown us around, he left us to our own devices and we didn't really see him until it was (sadly) time to leave. His instructions to get to the farm were very good - it really is off the beaten track.
The only slight downside to the property was that some of the mattresses were a bit soft for our liking (particularly in the main bedroom) - but that is a personal preference, and the next person might disagree. However, the quilts and bedding was all beautifully comfortable. We also had some trouble logging on to the wi-fi in the farmhouse, but we were quite glad to escape it all, so we didn't try to resolve this issue.
I would definitely recommend Northend Farmhouse as a great place for friends or family gatherings.
