“Brilliant house, brilliant location” We decided to go away for New Year with our children plus friends and their daughter. The house was absolutely perfect for us with loads of space for the kids to play around and still allow the adults to relax. The location is great and in close walking distance to the beach.
Local shops are only a five minute drive away and its only a 15 minute drive into Oban.
“Romantic loch-side retreat.” A well equipped, generously sized one bedroom holiday cabin, part of a block of four in a development of fifteen differing luxury residences. The Commodore Suite (all have nautical names) boasts a large sitting / dining / kitchen area with balcony overlooking the harbour and loch. A TV with FreeSat and a DVD player accompany a large settee with pop-out footrests, other seating and various lighting choices. A sizeable bedroom has a super king size bed, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, dressing table and second TV. A compact (easily large enough for two) sauna is a real luxury feature. A bathroom with spa bath, separate shower and basin is well supplies with storage solutions. This suite is upstairs (fairly severe stairs) thus affording excellent views. A cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster etc was supplemented by me taking my own coffee maker. I visited during storms Barbara and Conor over Christmas 2016. The cabin was warm, having underfloor heating and fan heaters. It felt totally secure in 60mph+ winds. The wood burning stove could not be used in high winds but, on my final evening, proved a superb heat source and focal point. A refurbishment of the bathroom, particularly to the tiling, would not go amiss. Better weather, perhaps at a different time of year, and the provision of a barbecue on the balcony would make this accommodation near perfect for me.
I plan to return.
“A great place to stay” About 12 chalets on a mature site, all well spaced so not on top of each other, and all with a parking space adjacent. Our's appeared to have been recently refurbished to a high standard and was very comfortable for a fortnight stay. The Barn Restaurant serves a wide choice of really good food (can recommend the Mussels!) and is a popular, friendly place - the live music from local muscians on Sunday PM's is particularly good.
Just 3miles from centre of Oban (free parking near Tesco's) which has excellent ferry services to nearby islands - we can recommend the day trip to Iona, book-able at the terminal.
A good centre for touring around, but be prepared to drive long distances because Scotland is a big place. The local scenery is spendid and the site itself nestles in its own pretty little glen. All in all, a very good place to stay.
“luxus pure” wonderfull house and settings the Host Rory and his wife lovely people made us feel very welcome if anyone is making a Holiday in Scotland here is the place to stay we felt very much at home here and we didnt really wand to go back to Germany after staying in this beuitiful house thankyou Rory and wife for having us
I stayed for 3 nights at Boat House West with 2 adults and 2 dogs.
The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and had a lot of extras. The scenery was out of this world and I know that we couldn't have had much better than where we were in Scotland. The walks were breathtaking and the meals and staff at the Shower of Herring restaurant were outstanding. Would recommend 100% and will be returning. …
Lovely large comfortable house in a wonderful setting
Being next door to a lovely pub with excellent food was a real bonus. The surroundings were beautiful and safe for toddlers. So peaceful and relaxing.
Only one hiccup in that the baths and showers were not hot enough but everything else was perfect. …
The lodge was very nice and clean with everything you could need for a few days away. We could sit and look at the beautiful views from the sofa while relaxing. Having a balcony made the experience even better as we could sit outside and enjoy the scenery with a glass of wine:) there was a small BBQ with charcoal available and utensils, this was a nice surprise. Perfect for a couples getaway, could not fault the place. The staff were also very friendly upon arrival and departure. Would strongly recommend and will hopefully return in the future.
Only 10 mins from Oban so if you want to have a stroll around the lovely town you can reach it very easily. …
Lovely cottage, amazing hosts.

Lots of space for eating, cooking and chilling.
Will definitly be back. …
Fearnach Bay House
Total luxury and relaxation
This was our second visit to beautiful house and we are totally in love with both it and its location. The owners have decorated and equipped it to an extremely high standard and there was a lovely bottle of wine and some homemade chocolate brownies waiting on the table when we arrived. Fresh flowers, crisp linen, spotlessly clean, lovely log burner with plenty of logs and fully equipped kitchen make this a home from from home. The views, walks and fishing are spectacular and we can't wait to come back again.
Recent work on the water meant limited hot water the first night but the owners sent a local plumber out the next day - still needs a little work so that two baths can be run but am confident this will be fixed! …
Roseacre Garden Apartment
High & Mighty
Had no difficulty locating the property from the detailed information provided by owner Gillian. On arrival Gillian gave a comprehensive introduction to the accommodation and the area's attractions/facilities. Very helpful and good use made of suggestions.
Well laid out unit containing all that is required and more. Very good wi-fi.
View from balcony included water views.
Easy drive to town, about 7 minutes and to the ferry wharf. Understood that at times parking in town could be at a premium. On those occasions you could Catch the bus that passed the front door.
Enjoyed an extremely comfortable stay at the Roseacre Garden Appartment. …
