“Heaven on Earth in Provence!” We spent our first vacation in Provence here. We were beyond thrilled with the gite, the location. As these were built specifically be gites, nothing was overlooked. The gite was fully equipped from a to Z. Comfortable and welcoming, we were at home within minutes of arriving. Little touches were everywhere & made the stay perfect. David and Karen are hosts extraordinaire! The information provided by them was spot on and made our visit so much better. The location was perfect too - everything we wanted to see and visit were easily reached. The little village was a lovely stroll away. Karen and David were the frosting on the cake! I cannot recommend the gite highly enough.

Valsorgues Saignon rental in the heart of the Luberon
Valsorgues is my preferred holiday spot!

We spent one week in Valsorgues in Saignon in August 2013 with 2 children aged 14 and 10. Valsorgues is a fantastic holiday place, I have particularly enjoyed: - Feeling being remote from the noise and the pollution: The house is surrounded by lavender fields and forests - with a fantastic view on the Luberon. Wherever you look, hills, woods - not a single building! - The house is very well equipped and furnished with a lot of taste. - Saignon is a charming/authentic tiny village (you can walk there in 10 minutes) - The area is surrounded by "must-see" little towns like Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Ménerbes, etc... - The market in Apt the saturday morning but also bying rare tomatoes at "Le Potager d'un curieux", goat cheeses at "La Cabriole", honey and lavender products at Mr Guigou's in Les Agnels.... - last but not least, the hospitality of Valsorgues' owners who live in the main part of the mansion. They took some time to explain which villages to visit, which hike to take (I remember the one to the little village called Les Buoux was stunning). We felt spending a house in Valsorgues is an ideal way to "unplug" and discover the amazing Luberon. … see more
Superb Property with heated pool and breathtaking views!
Fabulous villa

Thoroughly enjoyed an excellent week at this superb villa, sat high on the hillside above the village. There is a good video of the villa which is recommended viewing before you book/stay which gives an excellent overview. [Even though my youngest daughter declared that the actual reality was even better than the video]. The outside space, large covered terrace and swimming pool are all just fabulous. Beware though, the swimming pool could well provide a problem to you......if like us you have 3 teenage children you will find it pretty difficult to prise them away! Inside the villa was cool and refreshing away from the intense Provence afternoon heat, and with plenty of space for our party of 5. Highlights indoors would be the large vaulted living/dining room and the huge decadent bath. We have previously stayed in/near St Saturnin and love the village which is unpretentious and away from the tourist hordes. However it is well situated for easy visits to the nearby tourists traps of Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux etc. Roussillon remains a firm family favourite and despite sometimes being difficult to park it is an absolute must to visit. An easy stroll down to the village, provides easy access to early morning croissants, or lunch or evening meal and drinks. Just leave the car behind and enjoy that glass (or two!) of rose. It was a pleasure to deal with the owner (Alex) who spoke excellent English (big bonus given our limited French) and was very responsive. For instance, one evening a local thunderstorm knocked out the power to the swimming pool flow of water. Awoke the following morning at 07.45 to find his local maintenance guy already outside, problem resolved and the brilliant pool being given a quick clean. Superb service. Les Oliviers with WiFi & Stunning pool, walking distance to village
Our little piece of heaven for 2 weeks

Weather wonderful. Our Gite had everything we could have wanted including WiFi and a change of bedding and towels if you are staying for 2 weeks. As an added extra, Karen can provide a delicious meal on arrival and this year, David left a few local wines in our wine rack (at a very reasonable cost) just to keep us going! There is so much to see and do whether it's the big towns or smaller villages and hamlets you want to explore, vineyards, walking or cycling or simply lying by the pool, it has it all. David and Karen are very knowledgable and can provide you with any information you may require and will also make restaurant suggestions and reservations. We are now about to book our flights for next year! … see more
