“Kalkan Retreat - a great getaway” I have visited Kalkan Retreat twice now. Once in May 2011 and after a very enjoyable time in excellent accommodation I decided to return again in May 2013. I went with a group of friends and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. My room had the most beautiful view out over the ocean with a small balcony with a chair and table to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The quality of the bed and bed linen was excellent. Very soft and comfortable.
There were 3 bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom was huge with views over the ocean as well. Downstairs was another bedroom overlooking the infinity pool also with an ensuite bathroom.
The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge furniture was high quality and very comfortable facing the outside patio with the ocean in the distance. Around the pool were sun lounges for us all. There were also different outside areas. Little nooks for curling up and reading a book in the sun or sitting around in the BBQ area. A tennis table was the scene of many a competitive game. The cleaning staff did a great job being very discreet.
We loved the restaurants and shops in Kalkan. The food was excellent and the local people very friendly. I bought handbags, silver jewellery and clothes. We also had a fantastic Turkish Bath, massage and clay mask in one of the local massage parlours.
All in all I just love this part of the world and staying at Kalkan Retreat is so comfortable and easy.
“Superb!” Our first visit to Turkey and we were not disappointed. A beautiful country with lovely people only made better by our superb accommodation.
This fabulous and roomy villa is very much a home from home with every available convenience. The very large master bedroom with its own bathroom both of which have magnificent views of the bay of Kalkan was a joy to wake up in. Sitting around the pool surrounded by the lovely gardens was relaxation personified. The weather in early June was perfect for us – hot enough to enjoy dipping in and out of the pool but not so hot to make it uncomfortable.
Kalkan itself, a mere 10-15 minutes stroll away, has an abundance of restaurants to choose from – I think you could go to a different one every evening for a year. Each of the ones we chose was excellent with the staff taking the utmost care of my elderly mother. The trip in the “taxi” up to the hilltop restaurant was an experience and certainly provided an interesting tale to tell back home.
My teenage daughter is hankering to return next year for two weeks. I can understand how she feels. We will definitely be returning!
“Holiday heaven, did not won't to come home.” Beautiful villa, excellent views, It felt like being at home. We were so comfortable and relaxed. Having never experienced a villa holiday before I can quite honestly say I would be quite reluctant to go to a hotel again. We loved it so much we have booked it again for next year. Kalkan is a lovely town, restaurants galore and very friendly people. The villa is sited on a hill so you get a lovely breeze from the sea. The pool is gorgeous, the feeling of privacy is excellent. The villa has a lovely little landscaped garden and all mod cons, so staying in is just as nice as going out. Although we did not go afar, we did go to Patara beach just 15 mins away which was lovely. There are lots of excursions that are easily arranged by yourselves in the town itself. Local beach clubs are a short boat ride away. The transfer which the villa owner arranged for us was very reasonable, comfortable and on time on arrival and return.
Kalkan and Villa Limon know how to take care of its guests!
“Fantastic villa, views..everything! Best holiday we have every been on!” In a nutshell:
This was the most fantastic villa, with the most breathtaking views, in a wonderful area, which gave us (3 couples in their twenties) the best experience of our lives!
We felt so sad to leave and were immediately working out when we could return.
The villa is amazing value for money and is of a high standard - the infinity pool is unbeatable!
The whole area of Kalkan is beautiful and the people are so lovely and welcoming, with a range of places to eat and drink (and dance!); we are hoping to return asap!
“Perfect Holiday Home” Beautiful penthouse which has refurbished to a very high standard. The owners provide everything you require to have a worry free holiday. A welcome pack is included on arrival, and also other goodies around the property. The property is located near to the entrance of the Patara Prince resort which we preferred as it gave us easy access to walking to Kalkan, about 15 mins walk, although a taxi can be arranged via gatehouse. The resort has 3 good swimming pools and good access to the sea via swimming platforms. A minibus operates around the resort if the hills and steps are too much.
The penthouse had a mid stay clean where fresh bedding and towels, including beach towels, were provided. The penthouse has access to the internet with a router in the bedroom.
There is a large balcony with 2 sun loungers and seating for 4 people. The views from the balcony are spectacular overlooking the bay of Kalkan. Daytime views include watching the many boat trips leaving the harbour, and nighttime views where you can see the town light up.There is also a smaller balcony out of the bedroom door. We chose to eat out most nights but the penthouse has a very good equipped kitchen if you prefer to eat in. There is also a bbq on the balcony.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
“Its what it says on the tin ! - Great find” This apartment is fantastic, the description of its location and amenities are honest and reflect the truth. We have been unlucky in the past to book places where they say the town is but 100 yards away to find its a mile away, or sometimes have to get a cab, this is not the case with this apartment. The apartment is very close to the shops, bars and gym yet far away enough not to hear any music. Its clean and has all the equipment you need inside. The bins are changed daily and cleaned every two days - its just lovely. The pools are clean and it has that relaxed feeling about it. Kalkan is very hilly but this apartment has the fantastic views but yet not high up. It has the perfect location. Were just so lucky we found it. Donna has been great with communicating prior to the holiday, via email and making sure everything is in place on our arrival ie taxi's etc. Thank you Donna. My husband used the gym every day which is only 400 yards away down hill. We have a 17 year old daughter who loved it also. This is a lovely find and one we shall be using again. Once again thank you Donna, best regard Debbie,John and Sophie (Stockport/Manchester)
“Top quality villa with the most wonderful views” We were looking for luxury and we certainly got it at Villa Beluga . Six of us stayed here for 2 weeks and initially found it rather difficult to leave as the villa and pool were so beautiful . The villa is so spacious, with every bedroom and bathroom in a spotless condition. We drew straws for bedroom allocation, no one being disappointed . Even the bedroom in the basement was spacious, cool and dark which was very pleasant. The bedroom looking over the pool is absolutely beautiful. The location is great , with Kalkan a short 20 minute walk away, or quick water taxi or taxi ride. The unexpected bonus was that the 2 small shops in Kisla had such good fruit and vegetables, melons even being delivered free from Bob's Supermarket. We also enjoyed eating out in Kisla at the barbecue evening and at Bob's on several occasions - the best fish ever.
All arrangements with Nick and Jilly were prompt and once at the villa Tamer and Hasan were always on hand.
“Simply marvellous” We (4 adults + 2 children) had a fantastic stay at Kulenin Evi last month. The villa was spotless, beautifully decorated and well located. We were a 5 minute walk away from the harbour, beach and local shops which suited us perfectly and we did not need to hire a car. The kitchen and outdoor eating areas were well equipped for self-catering and the water delivering service was very useful in the hot weather. The locals were very friendly, the food was fantastic and the views were phenomenal. All in all, a perfect holiday for all. Many thanks for having us.
“Excellent villa in spectacular position.” We had a fabulous holiday at Villa Deniz. The view from the villa was outstanding - waking up in the morning to that view was something else.
The villa was well equipped, clean, and easy to look after. The inshore breeze in the evening made the temperature really comfortable for eating outside in the evening, even in August. The pool was really appreciated, and our kids were rarely out of it!!
We were met in Kas when we arrived and taken to the villa, shown round and given lots of advice and help, which was appreciated. Gulslev, one of the housekeepers was more than helpful and we could reach her any time we needed advice. The free wifi was well used by our 16 year old and a bonus when so many villas still charge for it.
We swam in the sea every day from the villa, and although it was deep, even our 9 year old was happy snorkelling there. Kas is a delightful town and we spent quite a lot of time there. We didn't like Kalkan as much, it was very hot there when we visited, and very much set up for the Brits!! We try to get away from that when we travel, so Kas felt much more cosmopolitan. Shopping for food was good and eating out was varied and usually good quality.
The highlight of the holiday though was renting a private boat for snorkelling. We swam round ancient ruins and saw the most incredible fish and sea life and were fed a meal of freshly caught tuna bbq'd on the back of the boat..... amazing!
I would highly recommend Villa Deniz to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful position - we will return in the future.
“What a fantastic location” We spent two weeks in the apartment between June 20 and July 4 2013. The apartment catered for all our needs. The views from the apartment overlooking Kalkan Bay are stunning. Breathtaking! The apartment was comfortable and catered for all our needs. The side section was a must, as it was so cool in the heat of the day. The pool was clean and inviting and very peaceful.
“a great spot to chill out and enjoy a fantastic view with all the comforts of home” Great villa, spent most of the fortnight by the pool sipping cool drinks & enjoying the views.July was over 40 degrees every day so swimming and lounging were all you could do in the day. Surrounding area has many archeological places of interest. Villa overlooks Kalkan village nestled between mountains and the coast and all the local restaurants were top notch (steaks and fresh fish particularly good)!
“Amazing views, amazing apartment, amazing holiday” The apartment is very spacious and very well decorated. It has all the amenities required for a self catering holiday. The balcony is one of the largest in the building, and provides you with wonderful views of the sea and Kalkan town. A BBQ on the balcony is a welcome bonus! Also the ottoman style seating is perfect to relax in the evenings or for a break from the sun during the day. There are plenty of sunloungers by the pool, and the pool is never really busy. The apartment is located a 10 minute walk from the centre of Kalkan, or you can get a taxi there for about £5. I would recommend this apartment to all couples or families looking for a luxury, peaceful holiday. It's a gem!
