“Second fabulous stay at Villa Idi” This is the second year we have stayed at Villa Idi and as before it was superb. Manolis and Rula are amazing hosts and made our stay very special, introducing us to local events, giving great recommendations on things to do in the area and beyond and helping with any questions and queries. Mrs. Rumy's home cooked food is probably some of the best you will find on the island and the taverna at Meronas is also excellent. The Villa, outside space and views are fantastic - a perfect place to relax and unwind. We will be back again I'm sure.

Villa Idi: pure relaxation in the heart of Crete
Peaceful paradise in the heart of Crete

We were recommended Villa Idi by friends who have stayed several times, so we expected it to be great. It was so much better. A view out over the lush Amari valley to the drama of the mountains, the sounds of birds and goat bells, amazing walks along winding stone paths, gigantic ancient olive trees and hidden Byzantine chapels. Manolis was incredibly helpful and hospitable and Rumy, who lives on-site is an amazingly good cook, who can provide the best sort of local-produced food for any number of guests. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone who wants to experience Crete away from the crowds and to appreciate the extraordinary beauty of this island.see more
Villa Samitos: elegance and tradition in undiscovered Crete
Inspiringly wonderful

Staying in the Villa Samitos in Amari undoubtedly takes its place as one of the experiences that will remain with me all my life. It is of course beautifully comfortable, with all the mod cons you will expect, plus delicious things provided by the outstanding Mrs Rumy who is the housekeeper for this villa and the one next door. More than that, though, it is the unequalled experience of sitting on the terrace, either first thing in the morning or late at night, watching the sun rise over the shoulder of Mt Psiloriti, or even more magical, the full moon just lifting above that horizon and bathing the whole of the Amari valley in its silvery light. Sheep bells and church bells, the songs of every songbird, hawks and eagles swinging high above you, the children playing in the streets of the village: this really is one of the great places of the world. No one could ver regret coming to stay here.see more
Amari Villas: calm and comfort in the real Crete
Paradise in the Cretan mountains

First of all there's the location. Perched overlooking the pretty village of Amari, and then with one of the most breathtaking vistas I've ever seen, across the Amari Valley and dominated by the stunning Mount Ida, stunning from each of the numerous terraces. Then there's the hospitality. Beautiful meals cooked on demand by the housekeeper Rumy, the personal care for every aspect of your stay and beautiful products and useful items in the welcome pack alongside details about the area, walks, historical info, everything you could imagine. Finally, there's the villas themselves. Perfectly combining the traditional Cretan home with all mod cons, stylish art and decor. Luxurious and everything you'd ever need. Each terrace has it's own personality and exquisite views. It's my second visit in two years. Once with my small family. Then again with 14 of us of all ages. I can't want for my next visit.see more
