“Unwind in comfort in the centre of traditional Crete” We first stayed at Vila Idi in 2016 as a party of 4 adults & 4 children, lured by the glowing reviews on this site. If anything they failed to do it justice. Within a week of returning home, we had
“Spacious” A very good place to stay in, in a nice area. Amari village is quiet and an evening on the balcony is magic. If you're lucky, Miss Rumi will also cook wonderfully for you, in her private restaurant.
Villa Samitos: elegance and tradition in undiscovered Crete
Wonderful Villa in an extraordinarily beautiful and peaceful location
We stayed for three nights in Villa Samitos but wished it had been much longer. Everything about this place is just perfect. The great experience started with advance contacts with the charming owner Manolis Papadakis. He sent us a wealth of information, maps and directions by email and replied extremely promptly to all our enquiries. Then when we arrived, he was on hand to show us everything and give us extensive advice about places to visit. He also introduced us to the wonderful Mrs Rumy and we organised for her to provide our evening meals each day of our stay. As others have noted, her cooking is really excellent and her charges very reasonable. She is also on hand to help with anything else that may be required but at the same time she does not intrude at all. There is a lovely welcome pack including a generous flask of Raki and also - unlike many other self-catering villas we have been to - many small but essential items are provided such as salt and pepper, oil and vinegar, tea and coffee. The villa itself is utterly beautiful and very comfortable with terraces on three levels from which you can gaze down onto the village square and up to the hills from which goats appear each evening, their bells chiming hauntingly. The location is in an unspoiled valley surrounded by mountains, the highest of which still had a little snow in June. It is quiet and peaceful but at the same time there are many interesting sights to visit - from exquisite chapels and historic monasteries to the remains of bronze age cities and groves of almost equally old olive trees.
Highly recommended and we certainly want to visit again! …
Villa Idi: pure relaxation in the heart of Crete
Second fabulous stay at Villa Idi
This is the second year we have stayed at Villa Idi and as before it was superb.
Manolis and Rula are amazing hosts and made our stay very special, introducing us to local events, giving great recommendations on things to do in the area and beyond and helping with any questions and queries.
Mrs. Rumy's home cooked food is probably some of the best you will find on the island and the taverna at Meronas is also excellent.
The Villa, outside space and views are fantastic - a perfect place to relax and unwind.
We will be back again I'm sure. …
Amari Villas: calm and comfort in the real Crete
Early spring in beautiful Crete, Amari villas…
We enjoyed an unforgettable week here in the early March.
Amari villas are modern and of very high standards while preserving the Cretan traditional style of the old family house once standing there.
A great number of options concerning your accommodation here since you can
enjoy the use of two houses joined together, ideal for big companies.
Perfect location in the historical village of Amari to relax and explore the unbeaten
tracks of rural and coastal Crete.
Easy access to both touristic and laid-back aspects of the island.
Nicely decorated and warm atmosphere by the fire places…
Lovely swimming pool and spacious terraces overlooking the Amari valley prairies
and the overwhelming Idi mountain.
The owners here- Manolis and Roula- excel in their way to make you feel at home… …
