“A home from home in beautiful Andalucia” Within a short time of arriving at Casa Los Olivos it felt like home. Everything is there, everything works and the house is comfortable without being showy (a bonus when you have young children racing around!) The owners, Helen and Alan, live in the house next door and are always on hand when needed with local information and recommendations for places to eat and visit. The highlight is the fabulous pool, great fun for the kids and a tranquil place for an evening swim too. If you don't want the hustle and bustle of the coast, this is a wonderful base for a family holiday. I recommend it.

“Stunning, tranquil & relaxing” My young family and I stayed at Cortijo Jacaranda for 10 nights in June. It was perfect for us, out of the way from the normal coastal tourism of the Malaga region, close to some lovely little moorish white towns for a proper Spanish experience. Hosts Lorna and Lee where welcoming and really helpful with providing toys and a buggy for our children, some basic provisions where provided in the kitchen, they also had plenty of local information and recommendations for day trips. While the cortijo itself was basic, everything worked and it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The pool was lovely if a bit bracing! and the outside area was lovely for eating outside which we did for almost every meal with plenty of shade from the hot Andalusian sun. The location was perfect for us being well off the beaten track, surrounded by olive groves, donkeys & goats. However really well located for day trips to the coast, further inland to El Chorro and the lakes, Ronda via the amazing mountain drive, and the local towns of Alora, Piazza and Ardales. I would certainly recommend and visit again.

“A seriously lovely apartment for two. Be prepared to walk.” My wife and I had a lovely stay in the penthouse during the summer of 2010. The apartment was sparkling clean, well fitted out and comfortable. The air con worked well. We didn´t use the second bedroom but it would not have good to use it as it did not have air con and without it it would have been uncomfortable. The owners were both friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. We particularly liked the private terrace, from which the views were splendid. It was possible to sit on it and take in the view while retaining perfect privacy. The apartment was far enough away from the centre to be away from any noise, but near enough to walk to it in a couple of minutes. There was only one difficulty and that was the garage. Driving to it in our small hire car was so difficult that we gave up after a couple of attempts and left the car in the public car park about 10 minutes' walk away. It was impossible to get the car round the bend just before the garage without grounding it. That was the only difficulty in an otherwise totally impeccable stay and there is a very good possibility that we will be returning to this property some time in the future.
