Carrickport cottage is a fabulous stone built cottage nestled in the peaceful and picturesque countryside of lovely Leitrim. It is situated adjacent to Carrickport lake which boasts some of the best fishing in the area, we also have boats available for hire, with or without an outboard engine, pre booking essential.

Carrickport has been finished to a very high standard to offer you comfort and relaxation during your stay. The cottage has a lovely sociable open plan living, dining, kitchen area, family bathroom, three very spacious bedrooms, with the lake view master bedroom being en suite. Carrick Port Cottage also has a fantastic games room upstairs, with a pool table and air hockey table, board games and books to read for all ages. Flat screen tv and dvd player in main living room.

Carrickport Cottage is ideal for all types of holidays including activity based breaks. Amenities close by include local country pub and shop within walking distance. There are 3 fishing lakes within a radius of 7 Km''s. The area is a haven for walking treks and fantastic mountain hiking and hill walking.

You can also make use of the newly opened Shannon Blue Way, ideal for canoeing and canal walks. Check out river mania or adventure gently something for all the family.

Electric bikes are available for hire locally in Leitrim village from Electic bike trails

Moorlands Equestrian center is located in nearby Drumshanbo, giving you the opportunity to see the beautiful local countryside on horse back.

If you are seeking more of a Relax and Revive holiday Carrickport Cottage is perfect for you. Enjoy long walks in the countryside, lakeside meditation and simply enquire with the owners as to the availability of the on site massage and reflexology treatments to make it a truly holistic experience.

Carrick-on-Shannon is situated a short distance away from Carrickport Cottage approx.10k. Carrick on Shannon is in south county Leitrim approx 40 mins from Sligo and 1hr45mins from Dublin. The area is famous for its river Shannon cruises, it’s lakes and fishing, golf courses, wonderful restaurants and of course it's traditional Irish music, with music sessions to be found on most nights of the week in Carrick-on-Shannon and surrounding towns.

When in Carrick on Shannon a must is to visit Costello’s Chapel, the second smallest chapel in the world or enjoy a wander around the farmer’s market on a Thursday.

Other activities in the area include go karting, indoor shooting, an afternoon on the Moonriver Shannon cruiser, Tullyboy pet farm.

If you are craving some sea air Sligo’s Strandhill and Rosse’s point are only 45 minutes away!

Lough Key Forest Park is only a 20 minute drive away with its expansive forest walks, playgrounds, Boda Borg and it’s high wire zip lining "Zipit" . As well as it’s unique "Tree canopy" walk, Segway tours, bike hire and boat hire to row out to the castle on the island.

To get to Carrick on Shannon from Dublin follow the N4 Sligo Road all the way to Carrick-on-Shannon. Or simply relax and get the train from Connolly Station, Dublin which will leave you only 10 KM from the property.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    If Helen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
