Our well equipped, wooden cabin in the treetops of the Rainforest is just Two hundred yards from the main road in a developing area. However it has a remote and isolated feel on the edge of the World Heritage Site Morne Trois Pitons in the Volcanic island of Dominica .With parrots and hummingbirds as visitors and a rainwater plunge pool 20 feet above ground, this accommodation is ideally placed on the Waitikubuli Hiking Trail. There is WiFi to stay in touch and groceries can be bought from the corner shop or bought from Roseau. Pineapple Crossing is next door if your group is more than 6-8. A rental 4X4 Jeep can take you to many unusual attractions within an hours drive turtles laying and hatching, hot springs, rushing rivers and waterfalls, Organic Farm tours, Birdwatching for the Parrots only found in Dominica, Diving and snorkeling, whale watching and visiting the Kalinago Indian Basket weavers to see their traditional dances.

We live in Roseau and usually meet and greet and stay in touch by Whats app or Airbnb message. We tell you where to leave the key when you leave. There is a neighbour in the building at the foot of the access Rd who is on call too and another friendly neighbour will cook and deliver meals to order

We were horrified to hear that the insect life of the rainforest were "infesting our house" however thankfully none have appeared since these clients left. The tank is now filled and the house in action with our next visitors who love it. Repairs in the rainforest do take longer than in more developed places. We offered these guests our other house and they chose to risk waiting for the plumbing repair and enjoy the swimming pool. We see our guests as potential friends and always try to explain the trials of living with nature in the rainforest providing what we can in terms of support in person and over the internet. Even though we do not live on site, we do have a neighbour on call who visited these folks several times but did not meet them during their two day stay. "We are sorry you had a trying last two nights in Dominica."

YOu are right a 4X4 is the best option althoguh we strongly suggest people get a taxi from the airport or ferry and then have the car rental firm bring a vehicle the next day. They will also pick you up and take you to the airport if asked.

We did enjoy having you and seeing you fall in love with our forest home. Thankfully the building next door is done now and the shabby shed gone.We have improved the parking and now have a dedicated water heater for the pool.Next door at Pineapple Crossing there is a hot tub so spa treatment can be negotiated. One of our neighbors has started delivering meals too. Come back soon.

These visitors were ideal for our cottage and we enjoyed the day out on the sea with them in my husbands fishing boat. We plan to plant bamboo and hummingbird attracting vegetation between us and the neighbour at the back and keep our forest ambiance. Now we have bought the land in front of us we are planning a walk bordered with more indigenous plants to encourage the birds and butterflies to come closer. The parrots are rather shy but can usually be heard and seen flying over mid afternoon. We are planting oranges to attract them to come and feed in full view of the balcony.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Tina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
