“Amazing little hidden gem and pet friendly” Lovely bungalow on a nice quiet caravan site. The location is perfect for the beach, a good 10-20 minute walk and that’s at the pace of our 5 year old daughter. The bungalow is really modern, clean, spacious inside. Perfect parking for 2 cars. Pet and child friendly especially with the enclosed decking on the back. One thing we did find lovely, no matter who you passed on site, people always said “good morning/afternoon” everyone on the site was really friendly and welcoming.

“Fantastic” Had a fantastic mini break here at Owl Barn Cottage. Margaret and Barry were very accommodating and ensured that we had settled in okay. The cottage is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing get away. The hot tub and wood burner are both a perfect added extra to the lovely accommodation and make your mini break that extra special. York is approx 8 miles away, cost £20 in a taxi however if you drive there is a park and ride a few miles down the road and the bus is £5 straight in York centre. Cannot compliment this place enough. We will be returning in the future and would definitely recommend Owl Barn to anyone who wants to get away for a mini break and a visit into York.

“Terrific family house” Minster Bells is a spacious, convenient, and well-appointed house, with a very pleasant and helpful owner. Three generations of our family (aged 2 to 70+) enjoyed our long weekend there, while attending a family wedding. The house is very handy for the tourist sights, for shops (including a nearby supermarket, and restaurant) and for weddings at the Hospitium. Janet provides a most useful guide-pack to the facilities in the house, and to York in general. I would recommend Minster Bells highly.

“Half Term Break” Just returned from Mile House East, where we stayed for 4 nights. The house is stunning and is set in a quiet village with an abundance of walks around the local area. The house is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need! We particularly liked the room over the barn with a snooker table and a great choice of board games and DVD’s to watch. Leyburn is a 10 minute drive away and the local pub just 2mins drive down the road to Carlton. We would recommend the walk from Bolton Castle to Aysgarth Fallls which takes in some stunning views of the local area. We stayed as 2 families with a pet dog and had a thoroughly enjoyable break.

“Perfect place to stay in Whitby” Six of us stayed in Gulls Cry Cottage in September and had a lovely break, the cottage is extremely comfortable, nicely set up and ideally situated in Whitby. “Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped property very close to the centre of York.” Great long weekend stay at Minster House - property large enough to accommodate 12 members of our family ranging in age from 0 - 86 years! Immaculately maintained, warm, comfortable and equipped to a very high standard - no qualms about visiting with a baby, every requirement met, even an Advent sterilizer! Refreshments provided on arrival (including tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits) were very welcome! Very close to all the attractions in York, in fact York Minster is less than 10 mins walk away! Owner attentive, helpful and responded rapidly to any query. No hesitation in recommending this property -we hope to visit Minster House again!

“Lovely spacious open plan family holiday home” Excellent swimming pool which is included in the price, which also has sauna and steam room, also good size baby pool. Very good cafe/bistro next door to pool which does tasty pizza and pasta. Nice walk to beach. Not too far from filey, scarboro and bridlington. Already recommended to friends and family.

“Luxury by the sea” This was my second visit to the The Beacon and I have booked another two breaks for this year.I have stayed at three other apartments over the last 2 years and although they were very nice I must say The Beacon is the best! Apart from the luxury decor and facilities the view is wonderful ,probably one of the best in Filey The owner Sue and her family are very welcoming and are eager to help in any way.

“Excellent in every way” We spent three nights at The Apartment in Masham at the end of May. There were five of us (three adults and two children aged 5 and 7) and there was more than enough room for us. The apartment was clean, bright, nicely decorated, and stocked with enough games and books to keep the kids busy in the evening. The village is very well served and is a great location for exploring the Dales.

“Fabulous” Amazing place and setting. We had a fabulous time here. My 2 grandsons loved the green areas and open space. We were lucky with the weather 20+ each day we were there. The walk into town, especially with children takes 25-30 mins but it is very pleasant and a taxi ride back is £6.00. The house had everything needed and was so spacious for the 5/6 of us . Hoping to get back again real soon.

“Perfect country retreat in outstanding scenic location” Despite frequent showers and flood warnings, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holly Beck Stables. In fact, we rather appreciated the wet weather as some days it meant we were forced to stay indoors and enjoy the comfortable accommodation, luxurious bath robes and warming woodburning stove. There really is 'something for everyone' in Nidderdale- future guests will be spoilt for choice of walks, National Trust properties, shops in Harrogate, picturesque towns and villages and not forgetting the amazing Turkish Baths! We will definitely be visiting again, with the warm hospitality shown by our hosts (for instance, bringing us a whole stack of local maps after we forgot to bring any! And the residents carparking disc for Harrogate) adding to the whole experience. We cannot describe the cottage highly enough- it has clearly been renovated to a high standard and has all the facilities you could wish for including a delightful Yorkshire hamper upon arrival. We absolutely loved our holiday here.

“fantastic cottage , catered for everything and warm and clean comfy.” my partner and two children aged 9 and 14 yrs stayed for three nights and we were dubious about our teenager "thinking it would be boring" how wrong were we. On arrival andrew and emma the owners made us feel warm and welcome and so grateful for the tea cofee ready .The cottage is spotlessly clean and everything you need is available . My partner fell in love with the fire and it was like the bahamas at times because he wanted to play the caveman with playing with fire. The bedding and beds were very clean and very comfy. Our teenager loved the cottage and often we found her sat in the main bedroom gazing and relaxing out the window . Fantastic day out on the steam train and good value for day ticket. Andrew and emma kept us all entertained with games and toys a huge thank you and now our other family are going to visit and we will certainly be back soon .We now only buy free range eggs so thank you for the knowledge you gave us too .
