“Brilliant location” Perfectly located to access the beautiful surrounding countryside with great walks for my collie. In the evening it's a short stroll to the local pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend Panetti's and The Taste of India. The cottage has everything you need with the addition of the great dog friendly garden with a gate that leads direct to a walk along the beck. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch. We will be returning.

“Fab little place” We booked our overnight stay last minute in February half term and we weren’t disappointed!! The apartment was perfect for what we needed, and to be honest I could’ve stayed there a few more nights. It’s about a 2 minute drive into Whitby and if we’d stayed longer and the weather was better we would’ve walked. The apartment was clean, tidy and well set out. There’s a view of the abbey from the living room and bedroom windows. There’s a Sainsbury’s and Aldi at the end of the road which was ideal. I wouldn’t hesitate to book in here again.

“Escape From The Crowds.” Well I finally found found The Cottage after making three about turns on the road. Down a wee country track, we were met by Ingid, Matt and Knight Arthur...I grid offered to help me out with buying a couple of items for when Shen went shopping , so kind, very nice pleasant people.... Arthur promptly showed us around...my two dogs scurried off noses to the ground then finally the kettle went on..... On the Monday I bought fire requirements, and on Monday night I lit a fire, later adding a couple of logs. How lovely! Took us back to our childhood, toasting tea cakes at the fireside. My cousin 86yrs old slept excellently....I less so, as I found the double bed a little hard....I'm used to a softer bed, but as the week went on I adjusted and was happy to wander off in my dreams... Some lovely areas for walking, with breath taking countryside and fabulous vistas... Our more smiley moments were coming across roadside barrows selling all kinds of goodies...made the obligatory visit to Whitby Abbey, Scarborough, Ryedale Museum at Hutton-le-Hole absolutely a must...finishing off with a mighty tasty meal at the pub next to the museum. While staying at the cottage I bought my vegetables from the top farm, the most yummy carrots I've tasted for a long time...but a huge selection of fruit and veg, eggs too.... It's peaceful, quiet, and dark with a clear sky so star gazing was an option too...Outdoor seating, if you delight in a glass of wine at the end of the day.... “Fantastic getaway” We hired Waterside House for a long weekend as a venue for our wedding reception and it was absolutely amazing. The property itself was stunning and very well presented. James was extremely helpful and when we needed to ask him anything or request a favour (for example when some of our wedding arrangements went wrong!) he was friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to hire this property again...we are just working how soon we can go back!

“Rose cottage” Rose cottage was really comfortable and clean and a good double shower and a comfy king size bed. Outside there was a patio area with amazing views. The property itself is up a steep single track road with a parking bay opposite the cottage. To walk into Ilkley takes about 40 minutes but be aware the on the way back the last 800mtrs is uphill. There are some lovely walks along the river which are flat . There is a big park area where the children can play and a very welcoming pub The Riverside Hotel. To finish, overall we enjoyed our stay at the cottage the only thing that disappointed was there was no welcome tray, so make sure you bring milk, warer etc. Also the website needs updating because it states there is a bottle of wine provided but there was not one, but that was of no consequence to us

“Superb!” 8 ladies stayed in this beautiful house for a long weekend. The owner gave plenty of useful information before arrival including a full itinerary and comprehensive directions/parking. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome basket including cereal, jam, milk, butter, crisps, chocolate and wine, just perfect and also a birthday card for me, lovely touch! The house is equipped with everything you could need and is furnished to a very high standard. All the fixtures, furnishings and bedding are high quality and there wasn't a speck of dust to be found. A 5 minute walk brings you to the train station in the centre of beautiful Whitby, perfect location. A truly superb find.

“Excellent value for money” Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Owners Sue & Alan have thought of every detail and have a little gem of a holiday home.The hot tub is soooo relaxing after a long walk and there are white robes / slippers provided adding to the chilled out feeling once you're out of the tub. The "secret garden" behind the gate comes alive at night with lights that are tastefully placed around it and the hot tub,we spent a day just lounging on the garden chairs in the hot sunshine ( lucky with the weather). Difficult place to say " goodbye" to as its a peaceful haven. Good luck to Sue & Alan they've put a lot of thought ,hardwork into this lodge and we hope it goes from strength to strength. “Beautiful house in the centre of old Staithes” Pelican house is beautifully maintained and sleeps 8 people comfortably. Its location in the heart of Staithes village us just perfect. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you may need. The welcome gifts were a lovely touch. We can't wait to come again.

“fanatstic” We are brother and sister meeting together with our families for a mini break. We stayed for a long weekend. We chose this cottage because of its location, the photos on the website, the number of rooms, the wood burner and that Holly could provide a hot tub. We were not disapointed with the house in the slightest. Beautifully decorated with every essential that you need - a real home from home. The welcome pack was brilliant. Holly's attention to detail and customeer service is fantastic. One of my email confirming that we needed a hottub went astray. Holly's usual provider did not have any left, so she rang every contact she could find until she managed to find us one. It took a while to warm up, (because it was freezing outside) but that was not Holly's fault. I highly recommend this cottage - you will not be disappointed.

“Wonderful location” Only a five minute walk down into the town (ok -ten minutes coming back - but it was uphill!) and a lovely view of the Abbey as you were walking down. Everything in close proximity, with a secure space at the apartment so you could forget about driving and parking. Take the tour bus and be amazed when it stops outside Union Mill as a place of historical interest! Everything you could need in the apartment. And thank you for the welcoming bottle of wine.

“Beautiful, well appointed, relaxing country retreat” Nestled in the countryside, just outside of the village of Brandesburton in Yorkshire. This converted cart shed is a beautiful conversion, retaining some of the original features. It has everything you need for quiet, relaxing time away. We booked this for my wife's 70th birthday celebrations, with family coming from around the country to join us for the weekend in the middle of our stay. We particularly enjoyed being able to watch so much wildlife from the windows on wet days, and out in the garden on others. There are wonderful walks to enjoy, and it is close to many local landmarks. Burton Agnes Hall is close by, as are the towns of Hornsea, Withernsea, Bridlington, Scarborough, and the City of Culture Kingston Upon Hull. We absolutely loved our time here, and were sorry to leave. We were so very well looked after by John and his family. Thankyou

“Fabulous well equiped cottage in stunning location” The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the cottage was very cosy and warm which was fantastic as the weather was cold and blustery and a bit rainy at times. It was beautifully furnished and decorated with fabulous views out across the Worth valley. Moorland walks straight from the door and close to Howarth with the Bronte Parsonage Museum, lovely shops and pubs. We happened to be there for the steam punk week-end in Howarth with people in Victorian dress which was fun! We had a birthday event with friends in Lytham St Annes and a lunch at the Inn at Whitewell so had the opportunity to travel over the hills and valleys on the scenic route to the Forest of Bowland and beyond. Definitely stay again!

“Terrific family house” Minster Bells is a spacious, convenient, and well-appointed house, with a very pleasant and helpful owner. Three generations of our family (aged 2 to 70+) enjoyed our long weekend there, while attending a family wedding. The house is very handy for the tourist sights, for shops (including a nearby supermarket, and restaurant) and for weddings at the Hospitium. Janet provides a most useful guide-pack to the facilities in the house, and to York in general. I would recommend Minster Bells highly.

“Half Term Break” Just returned from Mile House East, where we stayed for 4 nights. The house is stunning and is set in a quiet village with an abundance of walks around the local area. The house is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need! We particularly liked the room over the barn with a snooker table and a great choice of board games and DVD’s to watch. Leyburn is a 10 minute drive away and the local pub just 2mins drive down the road to Carlton. We would recommend the walk from Bolton Castle to Aysgarth Fallls which takes in some stunning views of the local area. We stayed as 2 families with a pet dog and had a thoroughly enjoyable break.

“A great get away” We stayed at Greencroft during August 2011 - 6 adults, 2 young children and 1 baby. The house was easily big enough so we didnt feel restricted for space. The kids loved the cinema room and spent many a happy hour sat watching their DVD's on the big screen. The sun room was great to relax in and had a lovely opening into the courtyard garden. The village itself was very nice - with a large green onto which the back door opens on, just a quick run across the football pitch was some swings & slide that kept the little ones amused in between feeding the ducks in the stream. The pub opposite does a nice pint of real ale and had a friendly feeling whenever we ventured over. Richmond and the beautiful dales are a short car ride away and worthy of exploring. We also had a ride over to the Yorkshire East coast for a day with buckets and spades. As well as a trip to flamingo land which was less than an hours drive away. “Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped property very close to the centre of York.” Great long weekend stay at Minster House - property large enough to accommodate 12 members of our family ranging in age from 0 - 86 years! Immaculately maintained, warm, comfortable and equipped to a very high standard - no qualms about visiting with a baby, every requirement met, even an Advent sterilizer! Refreshments provided on arrival (including tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits) were very welcome! Very close to all the attractions in York, in fact York Minster is less than 10 mins walk away! Owner attentive, helpful and responded rapidly to any query. No hesitation in recommending this property -we hope to visit Minster House again!
