“Good base for Whitby. Walking distance to town centre.” Good clean apartment with good facilities and wifi. A lift to 3rd floor. Walking distance to Whitby and its amenities. Grand daughter loved it, especially the TV in her room. Well equipped. Loved having dishwasher and washer dryer. Did not use our car while there. Walked locally. Excellent children's playground across the road. We struggled to understand the under floor heating system but managed in the end and were not cold. Would book again

“Great for families and fab value for money” We just had a lovely two night break using both Seabreeze and Abbey View. The owner very kindly removed the adjoining doors to make one huge space for us and allowed us an earlg check in at no extra cost. Some of the other reviews state that the accommodation is dated; yes it is, but everything worked perfectly and was clean. Everywhere else we looked may have been more modern but came with a large price tag! We needed somewhere large, kid friendly and dog friendly and this ticked every box within budget. Loads of space for the kids to run around and big living areas for large groups. 30 minute walk to the centre and only £6 in a taxi. We had a fab time!

“Hot tub heaven” We had a fantastic stay at the retreat during the Whitby Goth weekend. There were 6 people in our group, sister's and partners. We loved the open plan living,it is bright and airy with the bonus of underfloor heating.Bedrooms were big with en suites. The hot tub was a hit with the sisters. We met the owner Laurie who is only a phone call away, nothing was too much trouble. The jacuzzi bath was also a hit.We recommend White rose taxi's who dropped us at the door despite having to drive down the muddy track due to the weather. The peacocks visited every morning. We were sad to leave, but will definitely return We would recommend that you have a torch for getting in and out of your car at night, very dark, maybe something Laurie will look at for the future

“Badic but pleasant.” Was a lovely weekend. Pod was clean enough and thankfully had a heater, but wasn't really adequate,we took a fan heater with us and needed it. But it is November, so no big surprise. Site is nice and close to Whitby, 1.8 miles...we walked in along the foot/cycle path that runs along the bottom of the camp site.. Very pretty walk. Aldi, Sainsburys, B&Ms all very close to site. Taxis easy to get too. Could have done with some plaits and cutlery in the pod... only complaint really.

“Fabulous little cottage” Stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time! The cottage is small but very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden was definitely the best bit, sat there every morning for breakfast and early evening too. Well located with a footpath opposite to walk into Whitby, about a mile away. We also cycled from Ruswarp along the Cinder Track to Robin Hoods Bay (fabulous place), a route that takes you over Larpool Viaduct with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Whitby is a great place, very quirky! East side is better and the Abbey was breathtaking. Not much info on Dracula though (our main reason for visiting), we enquired in tourist information about the walks which we couldn't do as they started after our holiday but the staff there didn't know anything about the places of interest visited on them. Nothing in the town either which was very strange considering that Whitby is known the world over for Dracula! Loved the town though and would definitely return. Recommend a visit to Jackson's butcher's opposite Eskmoor Cottage, bought chicken kebabs which were delicious and other items from the deli. The shop in the village doesn't appear to have much stock! Tried to go to the local pub on Sunday evening but they only serve until 5, went and had tapas instead in the Blitz in Whitby, very good but expensive. Also had lovely fish and chips in Alexander's. Only downside to the cottage was no WiFi so unable to WhatsApp family or Google local info but a small niggle as accommodation was first class, will definitely recommend!

“What a great place” This trip was to celebrate my fathers 80th birthday and we chose Whitby by recommendation from a friend. My mother has dementia so it's been several years now since they have been on holiday. The appartment is in easy walking distance from the town and lively harbour area. Seal view is lovely and my parents spent much time looking at the views from the window, the weather was fantastic...... Caroline left a birthday card for my father a lovely thought and a nice personal touch. There were a number of books on the local area to help plan our stay. The apartment was spacious, clean and very quiet. The only very small improvement I would suggest is the pillows are poor and could do with replacing and I missed not having wifi, Internet access. My parents has a fabulous week, we went on the steam train to Pickering, newcomers day at Beverly races, walked on the sand at Scarborough and Robin Hood Bay. We ate in some great restaurants, the Magpie, the Quayside and Ragdale Hall..... I loved the apartment, Whitby and Yorkshire and when we return I would definitely stay at Seal view again.

“Abby view and seabreeze” We had a lovely weekend. There is everything that you need . We met the gentleman who owns the properties he was very nice and very helpful. The place is tranquil but at the same time a great place for children. My grandchildren cried when they had to leave. My only criticism is that the the cottages could do with a really good dusting cobwebs everywhere. To be honest it didn't bother me to take a quick duster over the place. Wonderful had my all.

“Outstanding house.” We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate my mums 75th birthday. Bridget who owns the property was so thoughtful that she’d even left a birthday card in the welcome basket, that contained loads of goodies including a bottle of Prosecco, wine, chocolates, crisps and lots more. Tea coffee milk was also provided. The house is outstanding, decorated to a high standard with top quality furnishings. We had everything provided we needed you couldn’t want for anything. We couldn’t find any parking and the property is up a hill, if you’ve got anybody with mobility problems. But that was the only issue. We will definitely be back

“Location, Location, Location” Beautifully situated in central Whitby, the Corner House is a pleasantly furnished cottage whose location cannot be faulted. Clean and well equipped, the owner was helpful and pleasant, and the cottage was surprisingly quiet given its position, especially given it was Goth Weekend and the town had many visitors when we stayed. The pre-arrival info worked smoothly, and the key safe mechanism meant no fuss when arriving or leaving. Fab shower with plenty of space, well-equipped kitchen and sociable living space. Beds were comfy and the whole experience was a pleasant one. To be honest, I couldn't fault it, but then I wasn't looking to. Good value for a pleasant stay in a wonderful place close to all amenities. You'd struggle to find a better location in Whitby.

Abbey View
Wonderful Christmas stay

We stayed at abbey view for 3 nights from Christmas Eve and really enjoyed it. Lovely location, nice quant cottage and spacious open living space. The heating was on when we arrived which was nice! There are signs of wear at the property however we didn’t mind that as we have young children and would be on edge about breakages if not and frankly for circa £100 per night you have to expect that! Quiet surroundings despite there being farmyard animals (which added to the ambiance!) and a distant view of the abbey. 5 minute drive into the main Whitby town centre. Would stay againsee more

Great quiet location

What a lovely place to stay, it is in a small off road area that is so quiet we didn’t hear anyone during our stay. The parking space is a bonus although a little tight if you have a bigger car. It is very comfortable throughout and there is plenty of room for 4 adults easily. I don’t have any negative points at all and we will definitely return in the future.see more

Whitby is always great, the holiday cottage made our stay even better!

Although we have stayed in Whitby on several previous occasions during February, this was our first stay in Discovery bungalow. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, warm and with plenty of space for a couple. Located in Macklin's Yard, tucked away behind one of the main roads in Whitby it is ideally placed to access the town. A huge bonus is the availability of a secure garage a small distance away to park the car. Those who know Whitby will understand that car parking in the town is a nightmare, and the provision of suitable, safe car parking is a huge benefit and was also one of the reasons we chose this accommodation. Although the tides weren't quite right, we visited Saltwick a couple of times and Runswick once to hunt ammonites and other Jurassic fossils on the beaches and near the cliffs. Unfortunately one of the best places, Port Mulgrave is currently inaccessible due to a cliff fall removing the lower section of the steps to allow beach access. Without any hesitation I would recommend Discovery bungalow to anyone visiting Whitby, however it is only suitable for a couple.see more
