Fast 11m overground train to Victoria (by Buckingham Palace) 15/20m walk to station or 5 mins to the bus (which takes you to the tube). If unfamiliar with London, it's worth noting it's a huge city (8.3 million of us here) so check where you need to reach using TFL Journey Planner.

Dulwich is a bit of a hidden gem. West Dulwich, like Dulwich Village is a very pretty, exclusive, leafy, residential area. Parks, wide pavements, cafes.
Dulwich Village is away from the congestion of central London but within easy reach of the action. There are a few boutique shops, a brilliant art gallery (now showing David Hockney). Also home to stunning Dulwich Park and sports facilities.
The area is famous for private schools. Dulwich College was founded by Shakespeare's associate Edward Alleyn. To this day the grounds are protected by an ancient deed which explains why the area has a country feel and is home to London's oldest woods - whilst being in a London borough.
This is perfect for people who want charm and greenery within easy reach of central London.
Cafés, a deli and independent book shop on corner of Park Hall/ Croxted Rd. Local shop for basics a couple of minutes away on Gipsy Rd. Most open until 11pm.
Zone 3 Oyster Card
West Dulwich station:
11 mins to Victoria (which is the stop for Buckingham Palace) takes 15 minutes to walk there and trains depart every 15 minutes daytime (30 mins late evening) plus a peak fast service to Blackfriars/ City Thameslink.
Gipsy Hill station:
25 m to London Bridge takes 10 minutes to walk there. Also goes to lots of other destinations.
Number 3 bus (and N3 night bus)
Every 5-10 mins takes you to Central London (24 hours) or jump off for Victoria Line tube in Brixton
Look up "TFL journey planner" to plan routes (there's an app too).
Heavy luggage or feeling lazy: jump off at Herne Hill there's a cab (taxi) office outside station. Think it's around £8 door to door.
Free parking. Bikes can be hired from Dulwich Park.
