We always appreciate feedback. We operate a green policy with regard to energy useage which the guest pays for energy consumed, as this positively discourages energy wastage. The electricity rates which we pay to our energy supplier are passed on to the guest at the same extremely competitive rates.
We frequently receive requests from our guests to arrange to occupy our cottages earlier than the check-in time and the co-operation of the departing guest to strip their beds assists in the overall policy adopted to help with the travel timetable of arriving guests.

Very kind of our guests to help us review storage facilities within our kitchens. The kitchen design provides ample storage for a week, as implied by this guest and, with a supermarket so close, we would suggest guests re-stock at the end of a week.

We respond to this kind voluntary review and appreciate the complimentary comments. We would clarify that we have operated a very fair 'pay for what you use' policy regarding the consumption of electricity in our cottages for 23 years. The guest is charged rates which match those of our utility supplier. Each cottage is metered separately and does not include any consumption associated with common areas. On our website 'Rates & Availability' page it clearly states that rental rates are exclusive of electricity consumed, and states that the payment for electricity is by meter reading and made on departure.
Our website Booking Information page includes our Booking Conditions. of which No 9 states 'the Hirer shall pay for electricity which is by meter reading or other fuel consumed during their stay'.
When a guest uses our 24/7 online booking system and has selected a cottage, the first page to be displayed lists 'extras', and the second item is 'Electricity by meter reading paid for on departure'. Before the guest reaches the payment stage, they are requested to confirm by checking a box that they have read and agreed the Booking Conditions.
Our charges are displayed in the Information File in each cottage, and we ask the guests to return prior to departure a form, which we leave in the cottage, and this also advises them that we shall need to read the meter. On this occasion the guest was charged £9-40 with a seven-night stay.
