USA East Coast, including Virginia and
Carolina, where the movie was filmed.
If Ghost is more your cup of tea,
New York apartments are a great base. Set in
Manhattan, Swayze plays Sam Wheat, who dies when he and his fiancee Molly are attacked. Trapped as a Ghost, Sam realises Molly is in danger and communicates with her through a psychic.
Swayze also appeared in film genres other than romances. In Donnie Darko, set in Maryland, Swayze takes the role of motivational speaker Jim Cunningham. You might not be able to spot the film's sinister giant rabbit, but to visit other locations used in the movie, take a trip to
California, including
Los Angeles and
Santa Monica.
Point Break, filmed in California, provided an action role for Swayze. Playing a surfer cum bank robber, Bodhi, Swayze is part of the Ex-Presidents gang, committing crimes in Los Angeles.
Most recently, Swayze starred in the drama Powder Blue. Scheduled for release this year, Powder Blue is set in Los Angeles and sees Swayze playing an unpleasant strip club manager, Velvet Larry. Also filmed in the Californian city, Powder Blue was Swayze's last film.
