Brazil to see tourism boost
Brazil is set to experience a tourism boom in the near future, according to property experts.Despite its warm climate and tropical sands, the South American destination has traditionally had fewer tourist numbers than smaller areas such as Ireland and Austria.
However, this is set to change as the country's government moves to increase its tourism industry.
The government has announced plans to pour millions of dollars into creating new tourist attractions, including golf courses and hotels, according to Prime Properties International.
It is hoped that this investment will attract interest from overseas holiday home buyers as they recognise that the world's fifth largest country could be a great tourist destination.
While Copacabana is an obvious beach destination in Brazil, Prime Properties said that people should widen their choices and take a look at beaches near Natal in the north-east of the country.
"Brazil is an extremely exciting step for us, but we think Natal is on course to become a magnet for sun-seekers and investors," said Jeanette Tebrook, sales director at Prime Properties.
"Nearly two billion US dollars is being invested into new hotels, golf courses and resorts and by June 2009it will open the biggest airport in South America, a sure sign of a safe property investment."
