Pro names his top surf holiday destinations
Anyone who fancies jetting off for a surfing holiday might want to consider the advice of one professional surfer.Speaking to Kay Barron of the Independent, Reubin Pearce revealed his top locations for the water sport and while five of the destinations are a long-haul flight away, one is a little closer to home.
The more exotic areas he selected are North Shore in Hawaii, Durban in
South Africa,
Indonesia, the
Canary Islands and
Barbados.
However, those who want to stay a little closer to home will also find some excellent surf in Thurso,
Scotland, he stated.
"People are still surprised that there is such a successful surf industry in Thurso, mainly because it is so cold. But if the waves are good, the cold doesn't bother you," he said.
Mr Pearce has been surfing competitively for 16 years. He competes in the UK surf tour, which is organised by the professional surfing body BPSA.
