Champions League Final in Rome: Travel advice
Anyone planning on travelling to Rome during the upcoming half term school holiday should be aware of higher air fares than normal. The Champions League Final on May 27 also means thousands of extra visitors will converge on the city. However, there is still time for football fans to book accommodation for the match.

According to The Independent, late May is normally an ideal time to take a city break in Rome. However, the Champions League Final between Manchester United and Barcelona will be held in Rome during the final week of May, which could disrupt travel plans.

However, for those keen to grab a piece of the action it's not too late. holidaylettings.co.uk still has accommodation in Rome for the Champions League Final available to rent.

Those not travelling for the match are warned that if they choose to visit Rome during the half term break (May 23-31) they should expect tens of thousands of football supporters to also be present. This is likely to lead to extra pressure on services and a different atmosphere in the city.

Holidaymakers will also find that flights to/from Rome will be much more expensive than usual as a result of extra demand. For example, flying with Ryanair from Liverpool to Rome around the time of the final costs up to £400 return. British Airways (BA) is charging up to £900 to fly from Heathrow to Rome on the day of the match and back the following day. Flights to Milan and Pisa are also more expensive than normal.
