Brits 'keen to book online'
An increasing number of people are booking their holidays online because it offers them a quick and convenient way of doing so, one expert claims.Kayte Williams, holidays manager at Travelsupermarket.com, explained that people can not only look for a break in their own time, but they also have access to a lot of information, meaning they might get a better deal.
She said: "Users and customers can sit ... in the comfort of their own home and search the whole market to find the best deal for them, instead of having to go to various travel agents in their local high street."
People can also save their searches and return to it at a later date if they need to confirm details with work or friends before making a booking, she added.
The market for online holidays should continue to grow as people become more comfortable with making large purchases over the internet, Ms Williams concluded.
A recent study by Ciao Research found that 58 per cent of UK-based travellers prefer to book their holidays online.
