Top ten modern Wonders of the World revealed

Sydney Opera House has topped the list of the modern Wonders of the World. The top ten most recognisable global landmarks of our time have been revealed in a survey by Halifax Travel Insurance.
Following
Sydney Opera House was the Eiffel Tower in
Paris. The as yet uncompleted Palm Resort in
Dubai also made it in to the top ten.
As well as
modern Wonders of the World, the research identified the top ten Wonders of the British Isles, with
Stonehenge in
Wiltshire taking the top spot. Visitors to
England's capital can admire two of the Wonders;
Big Ben and the
London Eye were both included in the top ten.
Vicky Watson from Halifax Travel Insurance said: "Our research has highlighted some of the top travel spots both at home and away. The top ten Modern Wonders reflect the diversity of architecture around the world, while the
Wonders of the British Isles are a reminder of the stunning array of treasures that can be found right here on our doorstep."

- The Atomium, Brussels
