Tom Jones makes $4m holiday home profit
Welsh singer Tom Jones has discovered the benefits of buying abroad, as he made $4 million (£2.1 million) by selling his Los Angeles pad.Located in the fashionable Bel Air district, his California home was bought as a retreat for his parents during their visits to their famous son.
The four-bedroom mansion covers a massive 4,500 square feet, has parking for ten cars and a black-bottom swimming pool with tremendous views of the city, the canyon and the mountains.
But Thomas Jones, Tom's father, tragically died in 1981, the year that the house was bought, so his mother had to visit alone.
Then in 2003, Freda herself passed away, but Tom has been hanging onto the holiday home since then because of the memories it holds.
Although he spent very little time in the house, his mother died of cancer there at age of 88 years old.
His sister has bought a place nearby and Tom still spends most of his time in his $1.4 million Bel Air home, close to the house that he has sold.
