Mauritius 'a favourite with celebrity couples'
Mauritius offers tourists everything they could want from a holiday, it has been claimed.Writing for the Times, Charlotte Cripps explains that the country is currently something of a hotspot for celebrity couples looking to soak up the sun and enjoy the range of activities offered by the island.
She said: "Besides high-intensity romance, there's plenty of golf, fishing and diving for lovebirds to choose from."
Ms Cripps added that celebrity couples including Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, as well as Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton, have holidayed on the island in the past.
Mauritius is also home to "plenty of stunning beaches", all of which are open to the public, she concluded.
Other attractions on offer to holidaymakers include the SSR Botanical Gardens and the Hindu temple in the village of Triolet.
Situated in the south-west Indian Ocean, Mauritius gained its independence from the UK in March 1968.
