Malta Air Show to be tourism boost for the island
A forthcoming air show could help to boost tourism on the island of Malta.The 2007 Malta Air Show is being billed as the best yet and is set to attract visitors from across Europe and the US. Held in late September, the event transforms the island in to a haven for aircraft fans.
Anyone with holiday lets or rental properties are the island are likely to see a growth in demand from people wanted to be on hand to see some of the world's most impressive aeroplanes, including RAF Harriers, Tornados and F-16s.
However, it is not just the air show that could boost Malta's profile; the recent introduction of low-cost flights to the region has helped to increase the country's international status as an ideal holiday destination.
Regular flights from London and Dublin are set to have a dramatic impact on the island, with an extra 80,000 visitors a year helping contribute to the local economy and holiday let market.
