Holidaymakers opting for online options
Many people booking holidays are using the internet to seek out the best flights and accommodation, according to a new survey.Research conducted by a US-based market research firm discovered that many holidaymakers are moving away from traditional travel agents in order to make certain that they have a tailor made vacation and ensure that their destination will fully meet their needs.
The study also estimates that during 2007 the number of holidays arranged online will increase by 27 per cent and reveals that Brits are some of the keenest online bookers, with the UK's online holiday sector well developed compared to many other European countries including France and Germany.
In many cases, the internet is used to research possible destinations and key resorts before users search out the most affordable flights, cost effective car rental and attractive accommodation options available to them.
