Gordon Brown to holiday in UK - family to stay in Southwold, Suffolk

Gordon Brown is to take his summer holiday in Suffolk. Brown's week-long UK holiday will be spent in the seaside town of Southwold with his family.
Brown is expected to holiday in the
East Anglian town of Southwold, and the decision to holiday in the UK is designed to set an example for Britons during the credit crunch, claims The Press Association. Similarly, Conservative leader David Cameron is also expected to stay in a holiday home in
Cornwall.
Brown's and Cameron's UK holidays differ from the villa vacations taken by Tony Blair during his time in power: "The frugal breaks contrast sharply with those enjoyed by Mr Blair when he was in Number 10 - which included stays at Sir Cliff Richard's
Barbados home and the
Florida mansion owned by Bee Gee Robin Gibb."
Last year Brown spent his summer holiday in
Dorset, but the break was cut short by crisis meetings over foot-and-mouth disease. Wife Sarah and their two sons John and Fraser instead stayed in the family's holiday home in
Scotland.
