The travel sector as a whole saw a rise in the number of people visiting websites dedicated to it, comScore's figures also showed.
According to comScore, its data reflects the number of people accessing internet sites from home or work computers but not shared computers such as those found in internet cafes.
Last week, a survey conducted by Holiday Which? found that almost half of respondents arranged every aspect of a holiday themselves with a large number of people who chose to avoid travel agents saying they thought doing so saved them money.
