Heathrow boss 'chooses to leave job'
The man who oversaw the opening of Heathrow Terminal 5 has "chosen to leave his job", it has been reported.Mark Bullock, who was the airport's managing director, has left the position because of a management shake-up, the British Airports Authority (BAA) has stated.
Commenting on the move, Colin Matthews, BAA's chief executive, said: "Mark Bullock has made a significant contribution to BAA and to Heathrow Airport in particular and has led the airport through a particularly challenging period."
Mr Bullock will be replaced by Mark Brown who will continue the effort to improve customer service standards at Heathrow, Mr Matthews added.
Currently chief operating officer at London Underground, Mr Brown will take up his new role in September.
Meanwhile, British Airways (BA) remains on course to begin offering long-haul flights from Terminal 5 from June 5th.
According to BA chief executive Willie Walsh the Heathrow extension is now "working well".
