Flybe announces more flights for Isle of Man TT races
Flybe announces more flights for Isle of Man TT racesBudget airline Flybe has announced extra services to help accommodate demand from motorcycle enthusiasts. On its website, the low-cost carrier revealed that it will be adding more flights on its popular Isle of Man to Manchester route for the island's famous TT races, being held between May 24th and June 7th.

Flybe currently operates up to five flights per day between Manchester and the Isle of Man but has announced that it will be supplementing its existing schedule with at least two extra return flights. To this effect, the airline is to add an extra Saturday service on both May 31st and the final day of the event.

Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer at Flybe, explained the airline's decision: "Convenient and affordable travel to and from the Isle of Man over the duration of the annual TT races is vital for the economy, so we hope this will be a win-win [situation] for everyone. The additional services will make the Isle of Man even more accessible for fans looking for affordable travel options over this extremely busy time." The new services are proving popular so keen race goers should book their tickets soon to avoid "missing out on the lowest possible fares," Rutter concluded.

Following the announcement by Isle of Man-based airline Euromanx that it was going into receivership, Flybe last week stepped in to help stranded passengers, flying them free of charge to Manchester, Liverpool and London. Flybe's recent actions, the airline claims, show that they continue to support what it terms the Isle of Man's "crucial" tourism sector. .
