Finnair offers a 1950s style experienceThose looking to jet off 1950s-style will have a chance to do so as Finnair celebrates its 85th birthday.

As part of the celebrations, one of the firm's Airbus A319s has been repainted in the livery of a Convair aircraft, which the provider used 50 years ago.

In order to complete the retro experience, the crew of the plane will dress in 1950s uniforms.

Mika Perho, senior vice-president of Finnair's commercial division, said: "Even though our sights are set on the future as we build Finnair into the airline of choice in air travel in the northern hemisphere, it is also a good idea to look back and remember our distinguished history."

He added that the aircraft will operate normal domestic and European routes, but will also fly some special flights, including one to celebrate 60 years of the Helsinki to Amsterdam route.

In England, Finnair offers flights from London and Manchester to a number of destinations around the world, including France and Japan.
