easyJet strikes in Spain planned for August

easyJet strikes in Spain will affect travellers later this month. Three days of stoppages are planned by easyJet's ground maintenance staff.
The easyJet strikes in Spain are scheduled for August 15, 22 and 29, reports typicallyspanish.com. The industrial action will affect holidaymakers travelling to/from
Tenerife apartments and those using
Palma de Mallorca airport. Holidaymakers renting
villas in Spain will also be affected, with easyJet strikes at
Malaga and
Alicante.
Unions claim that up to 100 flights per day could be disrupted by the strikes, which centre on disputes over wage scales, hours and working on public holidays. However, it is understood that Barajas Airport in
Madrid will not be affected.
Meanwhile, a Vueling flight from
Paris to Alicante was cancelled yesterday after the plane caught fire as it was about to take off. Eight of the 165 passengers on the flight suffered minor injuries when one of the engines caught fire.
