Cape Verde 'will be holiday home hotspot' in 2007
Cape Verde 'will be holiday home hotspot' in 2007Holiday home buyers should seriously consider Cape Verde if looking for a place to invest next year, according to an industry expert.

The number of holiday home buyers is set to see a significant boost in 2007 and many prospective investors are on the lookout for up-and-coming hotspots and new resorts.

According to Andy Welland, spokesperson for propertyshowrooms.com, locals have predicted Cape Verde as the next place to be developed and said that the property market has now "really kicked in".

Within Cape Verde, Sal and Santiago will be the top spots, but the two areas differ vastly, according to the propertyshowrooms.com spokesman.

He said: "I would say that Sal and Santiago are very different. If you want something to compare it to, I would say that Sal is a lot more like Fuertaventura and the Canaries, where it's got a slightly barren interior to the island, but lots of absolutely stunning beaches."

Mr Welland added: "Santiago is probably more along the lines of Gran Canaria, where the coastline is a lot more rugged but it does have more of a greener interior. They are two very different islands."

There are also now direct flights to Cape Verde from Birmingham and Gatwick, making the prospective investor's life a little easier.
