BA chiefs go after Terminal 5 fiasco

Two British Airways (BA) executives who oversaw the move to Terminal 5 have paid the price after hundreds of flights were cancelled and thousands of bags went missing.
BA has confirmed that Gareth Kirkwood, director of operations, and David Noyes, director of customer services, are to leave their roles following the failings at the Heathrow extension.
The company did not confirm if the pair had been sacked.
Events at Terminal 5 have been a far cry from the confidence displayed by BA's chief executive prior to its opening.
Willie Walsh had claimed that customers could "look forward to a much calmer and more enjoyable way of travelling" when using the new facility.
However, following the failure of the building's baggage handling system and the subsequent flight cancellations, Mr Walsh admitted that the launch of Terminal 5 had not been the airline's "finest hour".
Speculation is now mounting that Mr Walsh will be the next high-profile figure to leave the company.
Last week, it was announced that BA will delay the move of its long-haul flights to Terminal 5 until June as it attempts to resolve the current issues at the building.
