Air India flights disrupted by protest

Air India flights are being disrupted by a pilots' protests. Pilots have called in sick for the fourth day in a row.
A significant number of Air India flights are affected by the protest, according to The BBC. Travellers planning on taking
holidays in India should also be aware that the carrier has suspended bookings for the next fortnight.
The Air India pilots are protesting against performance-related bonuses being scrapped. The carrier has said that its pilots' refusal to accept the cuts is "unacceptable" and has been unable to reach an agreement with its employees.
The struggling flagship carrier reported losses of over $800m in 2008/09. As a result of its financial difficulties, Air India delayed the payment of its employees by two weeks back in June.
