Whether you’re a sun worshipper, a history buff, an adventurer or wine connoisseur, Cyprus has plenty to offer and is an ideal holiday destination for all of the above. Soak up the sun on Ayia Napa and Kyrenia’s glorious beaches, go diving in Larnaca, explore Paphos’ many beaches, walking trails and monuments, or visit the wildlife and wine route in Limassol; the choice is yours.

Famagusta
The ever popular area of Ayia Napa not only boasts lovely beaches such as Fireman’s Beach and Nissi Beach, but also the Waterworld water park for some family friendly fun. Kapparis has a mini zoo and camel park and for those seeking relaxation there is a wellness spa nearby. Famous for its pretty windmills, basket-weaving and its mix of modern and traditional shops and buildings, the largest town in the district is Paralimni.

Paphos
Paphos is bursting with activities and attractions. As well as the beaches at Coral Bay and Paphos Town, you can visit the pool grotto at Polis, where they say the goddess Aphrodite used to bathe, or check out the renowned ruins of the Tomb of the Kings. For sports fans, Secret Valley Resort offers three golf courses, and the Troodos Mountains offer plenty of hiking and walking trails. Or, if you want to sit back and enjoy mountain and sea views in the sunshine, Peyia is an ideal hillside town.

Limassol
Still need inspiring? Limassol is a great central base for exploring the island and Pissouri enjoys beautiful cliff top views. Two of the nine castles of Cyprus can be found in this region, and for kids there is a zoo garden in Limassol Town, as well as a sports centre and diving club. For adults there is the Koumandaria wine route, not forgetting the wine festival in the first week of September.

Larnaca
Plunge into the clear waters of Larnaca and you will find the famous Zenobia diving site, or you can stay behind to sun yourself on the Blue Flag beaches near Oroklini or Pyla. Near Larnaca Town itself you will find the grey sand beach of Phinikoudes and there are walking trails and a riding school for outdoor sports enthusiasts.

Kyrenia
One of the leading tourist areas in north Cyprus, Kyrenia is a mix of the traditional and the modern, with the St. Hilarion Castle and Bellapais Abbey and Korinium Golf and Country Club with spa. Sunny beaches abound and Alsancak is great for snorkelling; it is also known for its freshwater mountain springs. Wildlife fans should check out the beaches near Esentepe where green and loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs every spring.
